ARMY OD

Postby ALAN GEDDES » Mon Aug 02, 2004 4:44 pm

:o Had to go to Fort Bragg today and had an idea pop into my head. I'm going to paint my trailer Olive drab with appropriate markings from the late "60's. I just haven't decided whether or not to use the white or black stars and lettering. This will allow me to use the nose art from my units Vietnam helicopters and will have a very retro look to it. I also like the idea of something a little more subdued in the campgrounds and the woods. Come to Pisga and see it in October. Alan

That sounds good Alan, I'd like to see a photo of it when you are done. So the color is going to be something like this, eh?

Ooh ! A THING. What year and condition ? Camo no. Pre camo paint job like after Korea and befor Vietnam Camo started. Solid OD with the big star and stuff. I'm doing some research through Army Transportation Corp and some other folks to see if the Army ever had any tears. The Air Force had a few. Alan

Freedom Teardrop has a camo version.

I opted for the standard look. It is hiding in the garage to defeat the tax police. It comes out of wraps at the end of the month
