...don't know if any of y'all watched the Scottsdale auction last week but the economy was certainly showing with virtually NO million dollar cars sales this year...however, this was a favorite of mine...it sold for 123,200USD...how'd you like to show up at a gathering with this KEWL CAMPER....

Jack there are about 6 auctions going on at the same time here in the Valley now, The Gooding and Co. sells the higher up cars and I think one sold for 5.5 mil, http://www.goodingco.com/
For Barrett Jackson I think that Ford Tri-Motor sold for 1.1 mil
But your right the economy is hurting, at the Silver auction 2 out of 20 cars on the block sold.

...yeah Ed, and that Ford tri-motor is an airplane and not a car...the top seller(car) this year was the 55 T-Bird with serial #00001 which was certified by Ford as the very first production T-Bird with a lot of additional history behind it...it "only" sold for 660,000USD...I figured it would go for over a million or 2...last year, there were several sales over that level with Carrol Shelby's personal '66 SUPER" Cobra going for 5.5mil...I guess even the rich and senseless are "poor" this year.........

Hey madjack...my brother paused TV and yelled at me to come take a look at that camper. I asked my brother if he recalled a car for going over $660,000 and he dosent recall...but he said that Sunday would have been the best bet to see a car go over a million. He said they bring out the European stuff on Sunday.
I saw the Richard Petty custom Roadrunner for $501,000. That was pretty cool. It also had an extra $175,000 donated to it, because it was a charity car for children who need wheel chairs.
The only thing sad about that is that it upseated My Boy Jeff Gordon with his charity car for Lukemia that went for $500,000.
But yeah...I remember a couple years back when it was easy to sell a car there for close to/over a million. Like the Miller Beer Bus.

Has anyone looked into the controversery surrounding this years auction? Having sold a few cars at auction I find this lawsuit thing very interesting. My experience backs up the lawsuit very well although I've never used Barrett Jackson.

I was reading a couple of blogs about some controversy about some reporter making unacceptable comments and followed a link that took me into last years lawsuit. I didn't even notice I was reading old news.

I guess for me at least life does move a little slower on teardrop time. I certainly move a little slower.

As to the junk I was reading, I can't even find it today, so now I don't know if it's this years or last. My bad!
