Why? You guys on the East Coast couldn't even make it to Neb. last month. I'm hopping the next ITG will be in Colorado. Closer to the West Coast and more centrally located for those who attended.

But you have a good campout/get together.

:( If gas prices hadn't been so high I might have made it. Budgets, work schedules etc are what prevented thise from coming whether they be from the east, south, west or north. I am quite sure that every Teardrop lover would have liked to have made the trip and would have if it had been CLOSER to them as you stated you would like the next one to be for YOU.

Alan,
Wish I could make it this year... I'd like to start meeting up with some of you.

I can hardly afford to make it out of Michigan once a year, much less afford at trip out west, with or without a teardrop... (maybe someday)
(In other words... I can relate)
Most of our "camping trips" are close to home and most often in the "free" "state land" areas.

Since I HAVE to (and will come hell or high water) make a trip South once a year if I want to see my folks, we're going to try to make it around the time of one of the groups gathering down that way.

We'll meet up with you guys (and gals) one of these days!!

Bev

Gage; I cant speak for the others but it was gonna be 9 days away and family and business commitments would not allow me to take that much time off, I would have loved to be at the ITG but couldnt,,
Why you ask?? I really dont think anyone would even expect you to consider traveling to the east coast but you would be more than welcome, that is if ya leave ya attitude on the west coast,, There were a couple of folks from the east coast that did make the ITG,, sorry ya didnt get out and meet them,,, If ya are considering heading to Georgia I would suggest ya make a reservation soon,, not many sites left,,

seeeee ya,,,,,,,,

I would have loved to have gone to the ITG this year but couldn't due to vacation time at work with all the gatherings I had already planned on attending. Meeting all the people I have talked to over the years online, even Internationally, and meeting them finally face to face making new and lasting friendships. For me it would have been a greatest experince just to see all the trailers and ideas people have come up with. Nebraska for us is not the geographical center of the United States for those in the Deep South. I had always thought that my fellow teardroppers nationwide were and wanted to meet the rest of us fellow teardroppers, we would love to meet you, since we had something in common together. Nobody wants a problem between the coasts at this point and I really hope that this was not the point of this post.

Might be something to think about to have alternating ITG from west coast to east coast and also alternate from say N West to S East and S West to N East,, Make it a bit closer for everyone at least once every 4 years, or split it down the middle and have a west coast, middle and east coast,, that way folks could go at least every two years , something along the lines of Elko Nv, Kansas City and Nashville, tn,, Just making a suggestion for the masses to ponder on,, Ya'll think bout it !!!!!

 He, He, I'm just having some fun. No hard feelings are meant, you should know me by now. You know it's like the Dodgers vs the Yankees, Chevy vs Ford. And no the ITG is not moving. Looks like the next one is going to be in 2007 and back at Minden. And I understand 2 days vs 2 weeks. I spent 30 years with the same employer and several years couldn't even get a weekend off to go camping with the family. Tanya and I are already planning 2007. What we're talking about is taking only a couple of days to get back to Minden and then afterwards heading to the East Coast to try and meet up with some of you back there. Be out on the road for 6 to 8 weeks instead of the 4 weeks this year. And talk about gas. I went east to get cheaper gas, although I did find a station in New Mexico that the gas was $3.27 a gal., that hurt, but I had no choice. It was either get gas or not make it to the next city.

And Chip, I did meet up with a couple of the east coasters. Mainly other teardropers came looking for me, wondering if I really was a jerk  So hopfully in 2007, we'll be able to meet up and share some laughs.
So have a good gathering at Helen. Looks like you've got a good start on it. Don't forget pictures.

Have a good day,

P.S. The map shows where every one at hte ITG was from.
