bought HF folding tongue jack, but the pivot is so loose, i am wondering if I got a defective piece of cr-p. Has anyone else had this problem?

not defective, just junk... but it will work... I found a better choice is one made for a boat trailer... it is stainless, costs more, but is very sturdy.

personal opinion.. I don't like non-wheel jacks... the h/f will not fall apart, or mine didn't.... but I want to roll mine around and save my back.

HF was out of them when I went to get mine. I ended up a mile down the road at Northern Tool, and they had an in-store special that was even cheaper than HF's. It's a pivoting bolt on and came with a caster wheel, no skid plate. It's very sturdy; but the bar that it bolts through is a little long, I have to trim it back when I determine it's final location on the tongue. Normal price is only a couple $$ more than HF's.

I just bought a HF bolt on tongue jack last week...seems fine to me. No excessive play in the pivot. For what it's worth...

I HAD a HF one. It fell apart so it's now in the recycle bin.
