This is why I ask.

Globe information
1932-1933: Sandblast etched large sunshine logo over “Coleman”.
1934-1945: Large green straight line “Coleman”
1946-1959: Small green sunshine over “Coleman”
1960-1980: Curved Pyrex over red Coleman logo
1980- : White logo with country of manufacture

It does not seem to fit any of these unless it is a 1934-1345 green & it is faded like the lettering on my 242 globe. If it is the 1934-1945, I would put it up & not use it.

Gotcha...I thought you were looking at the amber one. I might get one of those...I like the color, wonder if it works on bugs?. Rich had one up at the IRG. I've been pulling some of my really nice old globes and replacing them with new ones. Doug

Yep, great against bugs. That's the one I always keep closest to me when campin'. Then I try to sit the clear one some distance off. It's amazing the difference it makes. You can watch loads of bugs around the clear one but rarely does one venture near the amber one.
Mine is a different color amber than the one Jeff has there so I can't say how it will do, just as well I'd imagine.
I rarely clean any bugs out of the one with the amber globe, but the clear one collects plenty.

Jeremy, it is the 1934-1945 globe because it just has the Colman logo on the front and "Pyrex Made in USA" on the back. Are these rare or hard to find? I'll probably do what you said and put it away and buy a new globe if it is. I can also take some more pics if you want.

All the planets aligned yesterday and the new parts showed up in the mail for the 228F that arrived on Wednesday so I went to work and got it all cleaned up this morning. I added the amber globe and a spark igniter but didn't go crazy and repaint anything because it was in such good shape I thought I'd use it "as is". I'm very happy with this purchase!!

I also got the 220J going, as well. This one I went all out and repainted the fount and frame and replaced the generator, air valve and fuel cap.



Anna thinks a red globe would look cool so I might buy one and see what it is like. I can glass bead my own globe if I think it might be something to use also.

That globe is worth more than the lantern. I would put it up in a safe place or sell it to recover some of the money you paid for the lantern.
