I just got 3 pics from a microcar club owner in Florida!
I'm still working on the code to post pics here, please check my photo album, you'll see the TD he built! :applause:
Look at the coding closely. This coding :

Found the owner of the Isetta with Trailer

Postby IsettaFlower » Thu Jan 15, 2009 4:34 am

I should have known...most Isetta clubs members know the car and owner, it's Werner Schwark, owner of Isettas-r-us in Woodstock, GA - who by the way, lent the car to a museum- and also provides us with services and parts. He's looking into getting me the special car hitch and we'll talk about his TD, information that I will post here for any others interested.

Below is the back of Billy Paul's finished Micro-TD in Florida that I posted in my prior message.

Cheers!
Flower.

Decided

Postby IsettaFlower » Tue Jan 20, 2009 11:18 pm

OK...I decided to go with the Piccolo design, with that Texa---something material of aluminnum covered fiberglass in order to keep it light --unless someone suggests other shiny metalic light-weight material-- no gallery and suggestions from Roly, hopefuly if he's available.
I'll be posting pics of my progress at the shop, please wish me luck!

Check that it's bendable - many laminated products like that don't like being bent and for the Piccolo you need to go down to a 12" radius bend. I think the aluminium-faced fiberglass is intended for flat use only.

Material

Postby IsettaFlower » Sat Jan 24, 2009 10:41 pm

What shiny material in sheets can be light & bendable if we consider a hatch-back, Andrew? Would that be placed over wood or as sturcture?
Was the original Piccolo built of metal or wood?

The pictures of Walter's Piccolo (The Isetta with the Trailer in the outdoors car show that you found) show a TD buit and purchased in Germany, I have not asked him about the material they used...

I have the perfect trailer frame for you here.
It's light and from the 60's with 8inch wheels.

Unfortunately I live in Holland..... :(

Ofcourse:

The width is about 115cm (outside the tires).
Lenght from front tongue to center of axle 140cm.

The wood should be removed ofcourse.

Is this enough?

It is a tube from the front to the back.
In the middle ther is a spring which holds the wheels.
And there are 2 pieces of metal in the width that hold the coach/wood.

I know that this is an old thread, but I'm interested in microcars and how this one is going -- any progress?
