Reserve America Sold!

For those of you, who may like me, book our camping trips via Reserve America...

Not sure that this will change much as far as reservations go... but anyways here are a few articles on the acquisition by Active Network...

Increased fees would keep people from using it. I do not think any increase would be that large. I also think the states that use it might have some input about any fee increases.

I will be coming from the west coast and I hope the monies will stay the same. Would really be BAD pr for them to do that. Oh well, I will see when I get back there. :D

I have no inside knowledge. But I think it was bought because it was profitable (though maybe not) and the buying company thought it was a good fit for their business. Or that they could do the same thing better.

I would be very surprised to see anything above a slight increase in rates, if any increase at all. I'm not too concerned about it.

IAC who owned Reserve America traded Reserve America for 3.5 million shares of "Active Stock" which will amount to about 9% of the Active Network. ("The Active Network delivers integrated technology solutions, marketing services and online media properties that encourage and enable participation in activities and events.")

Seems like a straight forward business deal to me and seems to indicate that Reserve America is doing well and will be around for some time.

well, you don't have to use reserve America..you can do better with http://www.recreation.gov/. I got a site off there that reserve America couldn't reserve.
