Hello Everyone watching.
not much progress has been made over the past week or so.
thaught i would be able to sneek some build time in but couldnt.
anyone in the UK will know the sort of weather we have had lately.
the sort you expect in winter but we have had it mild the past 20 years or so.
reckon no one will deny we have gon a bit soft !
there is a whole generation who have never drove on snow & ice before.
did a rally course at Silverstone about 15 years ago. well worth it.
even put the 4x4 back into 2wd so its more fun !

anyway, painted the teardrop tail lights red.
did 5 in total, 2 tail & 3 brake lamps.
couldnt get any red bulbs but have some amber ones for the indicators &
marker lights.

first time useing glass paint.
not very easy to apply with a brush suffering from mange.
spent most of the time picking loose bristles out.

looks a touch more maroon than red but they are not too bad when held
up to the light.

hope to have a proper build report with piccies after this weekend.

Those lights look good. In my old boy racer day we used to paint the bulbs with nail varnish!!!

coloured bulbs are available from boy racer shops that sell clear light conversions etc. At work we sell them in stop and tail 21w 5w 12v for BMW minis

best i get the nail-varnish remover off the wiff !

will see how they look fitted.
any doubts & im on to plan B,
(as long as i dont have to lower the suspension & paint stripes down it)
& thats a long way off yet.

Sorry Cliff,
possibility of attending the stiff upper lip gathering is zero.
the wife is due to drop our first born May 25th.
would like to attend but not even asking permission on this one.

Apologies to those of you watching the build,
suffering with flu at the moment.
(probably just a bad cold but it feels like flu)
not had much luck on the build lately with the argon running out &
breaking the welder.
think the worst of it is over.
hopefully it clears up & a couple of days can be spent on it.
when this happens, piccies will be posted.
