Postby surveytech » Thu Aug 11, 2005 6:19 pm

Anyone know the deck height (ground to top of rail) of the 1175 harbor freight trailer?

Searched for specs on the trailer but didnt see that.

Walter, it depends whether you decide to mount the axle below or on top of the springs. I have mounted mine below for a higher height, but I'm not home now to give you any kind of measurment.

Just measured the one I use for a utility trailer and it's 18" from the ground to the top of the frame with the standard 12" wheels.

yes, under the springs

The axle is under the springs. I tried mounting the axle above the springs as a test on my teardrop but IMO there isn't enough clearance.

Q is right, at least on my HF 1800lb trailer, it is. I did mount my axel above the springs but I had to notch my spring mounts. I have a few pics in the build progress link in my signature.

Sorry, I don't have the measurements as my build is not taking place at my own residence and I wont' be there for a few days

thanks for the info.
I am comparing it to the 4 x 8 trailer that I just picked up at tractor supply.
the deck height on my trailer is 13 inches with the standard 12" wheels.
axle is over the springs on this one.
That little bit of info helps me put things in perspective when I look at the various photos that everyone has posted.

thanks bunches!
