So,. How did you celebrate Valentines Day? And what did you do for your Sweetheart...or significant other?

I got the lights that she wanted for the kitchen, which led to washing the ceiling, which led to "we have to paint the ceiling", which led to ripping off the wallpaper on the walls, which led to fixing the holes in the walls, which leads to priming the whole kitchen, painting the walls and ceiling.......Oh yeah, now she's talking about a new countertop.........maybe next year.............

Rather than doing something special on Valentine's Day, I try every day to show my darlin' wife of 48yrs that she's always 'special' to me. Making the bed each mornin' is a cooperative effort, I cook probably as often as she, & help with housework if it's a heavy task. I do all the outside chores, mowing, trimming, etc, tho she'll often rake leaves or grass trimmings while I'm mowing. We try to make short work of all necessary chores in order to have more time to do the other things we enjoy (together if possible).

Oh yeah, I did get her a bouquet of daisies but we didn't go out to eat as we usually do 'cuz I broke a tooth crown Thursday night & I'm limited to 'soft' foods 'til I can see my dentist Monday morning

I guess the best way to describe it is that I am currently "between ladies"; therefore NO Candy, NO flowers, NO special meals. NO EXPENSE!!!

I spent the day working on Itty-Bitty if you want to call her my S.O. for now. Finally got around to building and installing some interior cabinets and shelving to hide my electrical wiring. It's too cold today to poly them, so that's gonna have to wait. Cabinet doors are top hinged, so "mean ol' Mr. Gravity" is my latching system for the time being as well. Also got the new floor tile installed.

That is the reason John that Steve doesn't even go there.....He gave me a bag of M&M's, a card and knows I will be a happy camper and only place that can go is thru the lips and on the hips! He is happy camper right now working on his trailer project and since we are both jazzed about this rebuild he is "home free".....He's pretty smart fella wouldn't ya say....Ha

Was supposed to go out to dinner, but there's a foot an' a half of snow on the bridge betwixt the house and the stairs to the driveway and the garage.
Can't even see the driveway from the house. Las' winter it cost seventy bucks to have the drive plowed just once. Hope it melts soon, but the snow's blowin' by sideways today and the NOAA radio says nine to fifteen more inches by tomorrow. Thank God for the internet and high speed cable.

We celebrated by going rollerskating. Weve never really grown up. I won some money up at the local casino friday night and I blew it on new wheels for my skates($80 ) and she took the rest of it and bought a new skate bag for herself. We are the oldest teenagers in our town....Paul

No girlfriend this year, but I did get my new license plate holder on the Trailorboat.



I also replaced the safety chains - but didn't take any pictures of that

I bought my girl of 32 years flowers and a mushy card (she loves mushy cards) then we dined out with 2 other couples at our favorite local pub. Had a great nite and a few too many drinks. Her gift to me was that she always is the designated driver. Lucky for me my wife doesnt like to drink. Shes the perfect woman. Lol.

Well, lessee. I got to sleep at 5 AM Sat. mornin' back up at 8 AM to take her to work (the trans dropped out of her car Friday), picked her up at 5:30 PM she made dinner while I gathered up tools to take with me. At 8 PM I left and stopped at the auto parts got the parts I needed and left for Virginia. Drove for 6 hours, get there about 3:30 AM finally fell asleep around 5:00 AM back up before 8 AM cut the bearing off the spindle, reground it to get the new bearing on, put it back together, and drove 6 hours home, ate dinner, picked her up at work dropped her off with my son in law to go baby sit then drove home. All told I drove for 14 out of 24 hours on 3 hours sleep.
Yep, this was one special Valentines day!

Our family took off to celebrate and we got the house to ourselves.
Got to lay around and do nothing.
We need more holidays.

Dean & I have had a very busy, fun filled weekend....today is the last day, Monday, as he goes back to work tomorrow. I have ALL next week off (to recharge my batteries).

Let's see....I started my Friday the 13th with a Valentine's Day celebration with my class of third graders. They were lovestruck what with all the goodies and valegrams that got delivered. Then I met Dean & the kids for dinner to celebrate his daughter's 15th birthday. Dean & kids had Friday off, so they went shopping and to a matinee on Friday afternoon. They had the whole theater to themselves.

Then on Saturday, Valentine's Day, I put out a 'lovely' spread of goodies, (so many sweet treats left over from my class party) and the kids had their sweeties come over for an afternoon of movies, followed by a visit to the Cyber City Family Entertainment Center. We played laser tag...I loved it...did arcade games, etc. Then returned to the house for a BBQ tri-tip dinner to celebrate my friend Fiona's birthday, along with Dean's early birthday dinner. Topped off the night at the local bowling alley where all eight of us participated in "Rock-n-Bowl". I had my highest score ever....a 70!!! which tops my all time high of 65. By the time I dropped the son's girlfriend off it was the wee hours of Sunday morning. Got up early to go visit relatives who had come in for a special 80th birthday celebration (same day as Dean's birthday_ for my former mother-in-law's birthday. This included a fancy celebration at the country club where I went early to help set up and decorate. After sleeping in, Dean and the kids came for a Sunday brunch and cake to celebrate yet once again. And now for today....last day that Dean and the kids have off, so he is going to cook up a Seafood Pizza (his choice) and a pepperoni one for them. All in all, I've had my fill of cake to last for the rest of the month. But, best of all, the weekend has been filled with good times, happy memories, and presents! It was one of the best, Joanie

Valentine's Day was awesome John. Camping with many of my favorite women and lots of Valentine's day hugs and kisses for me.

I gave my #1 Valentine a new camping trailer, with indoor facilities, if you know what I mean, did you see the little hearts in the corners of the trailer's trim? A big Valentine was what it was about.
