Creamcracker,
My wife's basement/garage/ attic looks just like your garage...
I had to buy a shop 35 miles from home so she couldn't get to it.
In the 8 years that we have owned this house I have emptied the attic, basement and garage 3 times (and I mean empty) and she has filled them again.
I gave up so now I work away from home.
I by no means am the most organized person out there, but I like to get things done, so I have to have a fairly clean / organized work space.
I just can't Handel spending an hour looking for tools or parts to do a half hour job. Work is hard enough I try not to agitate the problem.
I have a simple rule, If it is not a tool and I haven't used it in 6 months I either sell it or throw it away (or give it to some one).
So my friends RENT a Dumpster and get rid of the junk... Sell things of value you don't need.. and reclaim your work shop....
