Tea is served

Things that don't fit anywhere else...

Earl Grey, no milk or sugar. Usually follow the first one with a second. Now if I'm drinking black tea, I don't mind a little sugar, but can drink it without. Can't stand any sugar in my coffee now! Blah! Cream is good, though, but black is just fine as well.

Crumpets Recipe

1/2 cup warm water (105° - 115°)
2 teaspoons sugar or honey
1 tablespoon active dry yeast
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour or bread flour
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 1/2 cups milk

# In a large bowl, stir the sugar or honey into the warm water. Sprinkle the active dry yeast over the top and let it sit until it bubbles, about 5 minutes.

# Stir in the remaining ingredients. Cover and let it sit for about half an hour in a warm place.

# Grease a griddle or frying pan and the crumpet rings or cookie cutters. Place the rings on the cooking surface and preheat all.

# Pour about 3 tablespoons of batter into each 3" ring and cook over medium low heat until set, about 10 minutes. (Avoid cooking them too quickly.) The top should be full of holes when they are ready to turn.

# Remove the crumpets from the rings, turn, and brown the other side, if desired, for a minute or so.

# Repeat until all the batter is used.

# Serve warm with butter and jam or clotted cream and jam. Makes 16 crumpets.

How I make my tea (Lipton). I wash out my coffee pot and the container
that holds the filter and coffee. Then I put as much water as the amount of
of tea that I want to make. After I put the water in the coffee maker I put
one or two pouches of tea in the pot and cover. I do not put a filter in the
container that holds the coffee and put it in place. Turn the coffee pot on,
after it quits brewing I turn the pot off and let the tea seep a while. Pour
myself a cup with 1 packet of sweetner and no milk.

Fill old coffee cup with water, slap in lipton tea bag, stick in microwave for 2 1/2 minutes, discard tea bag, turn on flat-screen HD TV, relax in reclining chair and enjoy. Works for me.
 Roly, 2 cup coffee drinker, but tea drinker after 12 noon. (better sleep)

How uncivilized. Microwave tea indeed! Maybe for Daisy and Onslow, but for me never! My Sheridan would be appalled!

When my daughter was born in Hanover, Germany ( I was in the Army) the nurse brought me a "brew" I asked her for black tea(german for propper tea) with milk and sugar. What I got was a clotted liquid which may or may not have contained most of the above. The black tea had been substituted for mint tea which curdled the milk! It went in the sink!!!!

My favourite cup.....a limited edition black MINI Clubman cup
