:applause: One of the best that radio ever had. I'm happy he lived a long life. Thanks Paul Harvey  Danny

I always liked how he would do these long dramatic pauses that would alter everything he said. One I remember was he was reporting on a Politician who had lost in a Primary.

Another classic to measure today's broadcasters.

Paul Harvey was always on my Mom's radio when I was a kid. I've loved to listen to him ever since.
I heard a broadcast (as of Yesterday) not sure when it was done, but he sounded very weak and fragile. If it was a recent broadcast, I can understand. He took it right to the end.
We'll all miss him as well as "the Rest of the Story". :applause:

A life well-lived. Such an influential person and I don't recall him ever being a lightning rod for controversy.

I didn't know this: "In addition to his unique voice and delivery, Harvey was credited with coining several words on his broadcasts, including "Reaganomics" and "guesstimate."

I won't put a sad face on here because he had a long, full life. His life was inspiring.

They were talking about him on the radio this morning. They said that he only worked 15 minutes in the morning and 15 minutes in the afternoon and had a $10mil/year contract for that which was supposed to last until 2010. The radio personalitiy also said that Paul Harvey would only let businesses/companies that were American-owned advertised during his shows and they had to buy advertisement for 1 full year regardless of whether his show was airing or not. He always had more companies wanting to advertise than he had ad spots.

What guy. I remember listening to him as a little girl.

Did you read how his teacher recognized his qualities. Today teachers take the kids to motel rooms. Things have changed haven't they? My girlfriend noted!

My first job was in radio at the age of 15. I learned to do everything in the station including recording Paul Harvey for playback during the noon hour. Heaven help me if I forgot to turn on the recorder to catch the feed! Everyone in the station would come into the control room (about the size of a bathroom) to eat lunch and listen to PH on the bigger, cleaner speakers that we had. It was a fun time.

Thanks for the great memories, Paul Harvey.

I really didn't think Paul would last very long now that his beloved Angel Harvey was gone. I loved his program it has been a a part of my morning routine for what seems forever.

I'm going to miss him. :(
