Whats your 1st sign of Spring in your area?

Things that don't fit anywhere else...

Postby jdarkoregon » Tue Mar 10, 2009 12:49 am

Spring will be here after we have a couple weeks of sunshine and then a couple weeks of painful rain.

We haven't had the sunshine for more then a couple days.

Spring hasn't come

I took today off from work, I commute from hitterdal mn to fargo nd everyday. I was listening for road closures and it sounds like most of eastern ND is closed but minnesota is open but extremely hazardous. My work closed today, first time since 1997. I just got in from blowing the driveway so the wife can get to work. I packed her back seat with blankets. Shes a city kid and has never been caught in a blizzard along the road and Im not going out after her if she doesnt get home in time... Im gonna stay home with our daughter. 5 to 8 inches of new snow on top of 3/5 yesterday with 35/45 mph with higher gusts..gotta love life on the prairie...Paul

That's thoughtful of you, Paul!

Did you give her a flashlight and a thermos of coffee, in case she's stuck for a while?

People panic when they can't get to their money!

Money... I remember that stuff. Used to come in and go out on a regular basis. Now it just goes out. and the pile gets smaller, and smaller, and smaller.

first sign of spring here is I find I'm too warm wearing flannel lined pants and a long underwear top..... stopped about 2 weeks ago...

we had 8 inches of snow on the ground. two warm days and a rain storm took care of that.

I saw those flannel lined pants for the first time when i camped in Chiricahua National Monument in February. A guy from UP Michigan was wearing lined blue jeans! Pretty nice at daybreak when it was 27, but it got to 70 that day, and he was still wearing them! No wonder he doesn't stay in Michigan for the winters! :D

Flannel lined bluejeans are awesome! fished with alot of folks from points farther south from here and had a few ask how I could stand to sit in a boat in the cold with just jeans on.They never see the flannel or the duo fold woolies underneath. You dont have to be the toughest guy in the world, just the toughest guy in the boat! lolol My favorites come from www.sportsmansguide.com, the guide gear jeans with the red lining, warmer than my carhart jeans..
US highway 10 is closing here in a half hour, visibility is down to less than 1 block sometimes worse in town here. Karrie is on her way home...

We have similar weather here in Arizona... only it's dust, and it's in August. Usually followed by a terrific thunderstorm, which coats everything with a nice layer of mud. However, if it rains long enough, it is self cleaning!

go to the top of the page, click on "Profile"

At the bottom of the profile page, you will see "Avitar". An avitar is a little picture. You will have to re-size (photobucket does a great job of this. you can use Paint, but it is a little less user friendly. There are lots of other programs that will resize also).

Once you have your picture small enough, follow the directions to upload it.

If you want, you can send me the picture and I will re-size it for you and return it to you. Just PM me.
God Bless

I just looked at the picture in your album. It is small enough. Just upload it as above.
