Don't be jealous unless Bob says he and Vicki are hooking up the trailer for the trip.

I'll have you know I've worked on it all week. Have lights rewired on 1 side. I'm putting drawer slides into the galley for real drawers. And I'm finishing up the framing inside for the drawers and Cabinets.

I'm very pleased with the redo, I really think this will be it.
Has to be if there's gonna be a next

Looks like Scuba , Vickie and I are gonna make a run to Raccoon
today ( Sat 21st). Camp 1 night and wander around , we will post some pictures late Sunday or Mon. AM.

Spent Friday road proofing the electronics in the tear. This kinda gives a whole new meaning to "SHAKE" down cruise. Mini bungie cords . egg crate foam and velcro may very well become my new best friends. I always hated to arrive and find things had been tossed about in the trailer. Guess we will see if these ideas work.

We will even update the performance of the Redneck antenna in the woods.

We never even saw a raccoon

We threw together a moster meatloaf with spiced tomatoes and onion.
Her is a shot of the lid lifter at work

Image

Here is supper , the monster meatloaf
Image

Jeff's setup ( ol what's her name took the pic's and not a one of ours)
Image

fried potatoes in one skillet eggs in the other no skillet no problem here is the sausage cooking on the underside of the dutch oven lid.

Image

Here is Jeff's bubby Junior giving Smokey the bear a hand . Just before we left Sunday the neighbors pulled out and not 10 minutes earlier they tossed on more wood then just drove away. Junior is doing the scatter and douse thing. The funny part is this will be Jeff's site in May note the 248 on the electric mast. Pic shows how deep the woods are behind us and a little farther than you can see in this pic you can see the lake.

Image

Jeff tried to get site shots of a few of the sites for everyones info.
The pads are all extra wide and fully paved with 2~ 6 foot tables at each site . You might make a note we saw no evidence of any type of trash disposal so what ya bring in ya take out so ya better buy extra garbage bags.
Water was still off when we were down there but the water faucets are well placed and plentiful.

Jeff will be along shortly with more shots.

Sites are HUGH. There is plenty of elbow room. Each site has 2 ~ 6 foot picnic tables and the standard fire ring grate combo we have seen elsewhere. The pads are all blacktopped and long and wide. Most all the sites on the loops slope side to side and if they sloped front to back they were all down hill which means a bit more headroom in the Galleys  Bring some wood blocking and a leveling jack or two just in case. The folks on the main entry road are on sites that are all dead level.

Scott we camped on your site had jacked the driverside rear corner of our tear 4" and we were dead level side to side and front to back.

The modern restroom was still locked down for the winter but I am sure they have all the amenities. Water faucets are plentiful and convenient or will be (they were still plugged of for the winter this trip). Pit toilets are just 6 sites away where ever you are and are well seperated from the camping sites.

The part I found most curious is the complete absence of dumpsters. There was NO evidence that they may have just been pulled for the winter. So stock up on garbage bags and be prepared to haul out what you haul in. We are looking forward to a fantastic kickoff of our 09 camping season and meeting old friends and new.

Scott : I will have your new dutch oven lid lifter with me.

shameless plug alert ..... And a few extras for sale !

P.S. It was closed , but there is an operating camp store within bikeing distance or a long long walk. It is on the way in and looks very complete and would give any 7-11 a run for it's money !

Well said Bob. I don't think there is much more to add other than I too had a great time and like the camp ground. I did take photos with my phone but it saved them in the phone memory so now I have to move them one by one to the chip then take that out to get the pics to the computer so I don't have them yet to post but the map on the reservation site is a little bit different than the actual layout. Scott, you said you were setting up across from the play ground but 250 which is the site I stayed on is not as close as you might think. 252 is directly across from it or 245 is next to it. I wanted to make sure you knew that. I didn't want you to be surprised when you arrived. You can see what I am talking about below.

You can compare this to the group map you have created. Even Bob was surprised when we actually got to looking around.

 Somethings fishy cause 250 is to the right of the water and 249 is to the left of the water.

Guess we'll see when we get there. Don't matter I'll be happy wherever

I was on 250 and Bob & Vic were on 251. The water was by the drive between our sites. I have a photo when I get them moved. I am working on that now.
