My new toy

Just got this from Sportsman's Guide. All the purty of an old lantern but the ease of new technology.

Gotta stick some batteries in it yet and "fire" it up but so far I'm happy with its looks and sturdy aluminum housing.

Sure will. I'm having the husband pick up some batteries for me. It does need 6 D cells. Now...supposedly...you can get 17 days of continuous use out of a set of batteries. We'll see. But I am planning on using rechargeable ones.

Very nice. I wonder how well it would light up a room? That would have come in handy during our power outage a few days ago. Found it on eBay for $35.96 including the shipping  . :D Danny

Great lantern!!! What I love is the fact that they took a vintage design and updated it. Doug

Fired up the lantern and took it in a closet. It's not as bright as my Co leman rechargeable lanter but it is still good and bright. I really like the finnish on the aluminum. I think it will look really nice with our little Cubby.

With my Sportsmans Guide membership I paid $36.45 and that included shipping.

Over the winter I have been gathering little things for camping and it's beginning to drive me nuts! This has been one long nasty winter. We still have a level 2 feet of snow in the back yard. This weekend we are supposed to have 50 degree temps but a fresh blizzard on Monday.

Cabin Fever is running high!!!!! ARRGGGGH!
