i first thougt aluminium would be cool, but i found out soon, that it would be way too heavy. so i just paint it alu-style...
tomorrow i will cut out the door of the second wall.
i thought about a "plexiglas" (dont know the word in english) roof, because of the max. waight of 200kgs. and i think that would be a really nice style. what do you think?

all the best and thank you sooo much!!!

because of the waight i wont do an inside wall.
instead i would just cover the inside with cloth.

Hi Tom
Plexiglas is a correct word here also. Your link to the Polymax is not working. At work we use a fabric to trim car trunks to simulate production trim. It is light but very durable. It could be attached with an adhesive to a wood and foam structure. I will find the product name Monday.

Tom, we cannot see that forum without registering as members, which most people won't do.

One important question you must research about Polymax is whether it is UV (ultraviolett?) resistant. Many plastics look to be suitable for teardrop bodies but you must first work out how you will join them and seal them - many plastics become unsuitable when you research them.

Hello Tom,

Welcome to the forum and greetings aus die Niederlände.
If you want to built very light, built the sides with the bleu or pink insulation foam. it weights nothing and its strong and watertight after a cover of epoxy. Than you can also use the finnish 3 mm multiplex on the inside.
Just my thinking.

Tom,

Which part of Germany are you from? I just wondered.

When I was there, many moons ago, I visited Hamburg. More recently I visited Würzburg. My latest affiliation is in Schwäbisch Gmünd.

Plexiglass is acrylic sheeting.
Lexan is polycarbonate.
Plexi is 10x stronger than glass
Lexan is 250x stronger than glass

Plexi is not uv resistant
Lexan is uv resistant on one side

Lexan costs 50% more than plexi.

hello folks!
i got a problem, hope you could help me.

i ask myself, how to put the aluminium on the sides and roof.
i know i have to glue it. but what i dont know. and i hope i can explain it in english:

imagine a side of the trailer, now i put the aluminium on.
and now? shall i take a rubber hammer and hit the aluminium on the roof like a corner/nook (whats the word) and now i put the rrof ontop?

or shall i make it
shock to shock and fill the fugues with some kind of flexy stuff...

how do you guys do it.

i have to say that on the outlines of roof and sidewalls i will put a strip/bar on with a
sealing tape under.....

sorry for my horrible english.
