Newbe from Texas

Postby JustusTnT » Fri Mar 20, 2009 7:24 pm

Hello
I am from Texas and am planning to build me a tear drop custom, well at least my version of one. I have a old snow mobile trailer that is 6w x 8l. I will have to do some frame work to it, but it will be a good strong base to start from. These are all cool looking trailers and the best thing is that most are built to the owners specs. I will probley be asking questions as I move along.
Thanks
Tony

Welcome Tony,
You'll find this site and its members an invaluable resource. I know I did. It's the nicest, most encouraging non-critical helpful group of people I've even met.

Hey welcome to the show. There is nothing wrong with six wide. My trailer is six wide and it gives enough room for the misses and the little dude.

Image to the playground Tony! Be sure you actually need to beef up the trailer before you go adding weight. You might be surprised at how little it really takes.

Got pictures.. We need :pictures: :pictures: :pictures: to be sure you have the bubble oil full......... 8)

I was wondering the same thing. I've been in Texas 47 years and am not sure where snowmobile country in Texas is.

I'm not too far along in my build, but if you're in the DFW area, stop by. Also, if you haven't already, stop by the South Central section of the forum. You'll find out about local gatherings. My wife and I have been to a few (without a teardrop), and everyone made us feel very welcome. They even allowed me to pester them with build questions and not get upset.

Well, I did not build one. I bought one. It's a white water retro jr.we are very happy with it, working on getting our gear together so we can get away. I have some question, but I will ask in the correct area.
