Hi Everyone
When I purchased my axle I made a mistake and had the spindles made to long. Now my 13" tires are about 10.5 " to the outside away from the trailer wall. I need a source for a 11" wide steel fender. Anyone have any Ideas.

Have you tried any custom motorcycle shops?. The rear fenders they use can be up to 12" wide

How about a thick spacer made of wood and matching the fender profile attached to the side of the TD at the appropriate spot?

Or make a spacer shaped like a traditional teardrop fender and simply put a regular fender on it, sort of a halfway teardrop fender....

If you are measuring your 10.5" from the wood to the outermost portion of your tire's sidewall you might still be able to work with a 10" wide standard fender, it doesn't have to cover the whole expanse of the tire, just the tread....at least visually. I don't know if there is a legal requirement in you state.

Or maybe look into using an auto rim that has about an inch of offset that would place the centerline of the wheel inward. The bearings should probably be able to handle that. I have some 14" Mazda wheels and tires that are the same outside diameter as a standard 13" trailer wheel, hole center fits over trailer hub and have 5x4.5" mounting holes.
The offset is a little over an inch. Something to think about.

Agreed. I actually think it looks better if the tire pokes out from under the fender a little. As long as it covers the tread part, it should be fine. And 10" fenders are easier to find.

I got 10.75" fenders from RedNeck TrailerSupply...these are basically a standard fender, which should be available from any supplier of utility trailer parts...the first pic in my album is of those fenders...this size is also available in the retro fiberglass styles from Grant at LilBear and RWJohnson..........

Try ebay with a search for "trailer fender". I just bought some steel fenders that were 11" wide but 32" long. Too big for a 13" wheel/tire combo. They fit fine on my tires which are 235/75 /15. I think you will find it tough to find an 11" wide fender that will look good on a 13" wheel/tire set up but its worth a look.

...Jerome is correct, you are gonna have a real tough time finding a fender that wide for 13" wheel/tire combos...a spacer may be one of your best bet....

Joe, kmtparts.com has 10.75" wide steel fenders. I think they drop ship them from Red Neck Trailer Supply.

I'm using a pair from them. Very good quality for a low price.

Or you might change to a shorter spindle.

Steve did they have one in that width for 13" tires...I too, used the 10.75/32's from RedNeck but they may be a bit long(?) for smaller than 14-15" tire/wheel combos........

Or you can cut spacers that look like flames and give it some extra character!!

I dont realy want to go to the expence of buying new tires and rims. The ones I got are brand new. I think that the wood filler would be the best way to go at this point. I will just fiberglass and epoxy the spacer to the side of the tear for a more finished look. I'll post some pictures when I get to that point and see what you guys think .
