Yes, I just checked accuweather again and they are now giving bigger chance of thunderstorms for Friday and much colder on Friday and Saturday nights!!! Pack accordingly.

It's nice to have that huge pavilion.... I always bring a movie , deck of cards and might put the scrabble game or dominos in the td.

I'm hoping I can leave on Thursday around noon but I'm not sure that will happen and not sure I want to get down there after 7 pm.
So If I'm not there till Friday noon, don't worry. I just hope I don't have to drive in a downpour.
Some things are way over my head !! ...but it keeps me looking UP!

:( Ok, another site is available. We won't be able to make it to stay the weekend. If Donna is up to it, we will drive down Sat morning and stay for the pot luck. Whoever takes the site, just give the $$ to Linda for the reservations for next year.
Now a short update on Donna, we made the trip to Houston and fought the madness. The dr there decided that she hasn't taken much chemo and sent us home to do more with different meds. At the moment though, she has a tumor on her tailbone that is pressing on the sciatic nerve and has mostly confined her to a wheelchair. The Drs said that the cancer is a rare type of sarcoma that doesn't respond well to conventional treatment and since it has spread, there is no cure. If it can be controlled, that will be considered a success. The outlook is not good presently, but we still have hope for something to come along.
We thank all who have included us in your prayers, we feel comforted by this.
Hope to see all Sat. Jeff & Donna

Sorry to hear the bad news, Jeff. I hope you can make it for supper, but don't do anything that isn't comfortable for Donna.

DIRECTIONS >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Just for those that have not been there before. The main entrance to the park if VERY well marked, a huge sign .

Once you get to BROKEN BOW, OK take SH 259 north then you will turn right at SH 259-A at the sign.
The first office you see is Forest Heritage Center. Keep going straight, vearing to the right and the road curves right, over a small bridge and then you will pass the Nature Center on your left . After that you'll see the little playground and the camp area on your left.... you'll actually pass the campground and then see the turn in on your left, by the tennis court.

YEA!!!! Everybody have a good trip !! If you're driving in on Friday, there is a chance of thunderstorms , so please drive carefully !

Talked to Nic last night ... he IS coming ... likely be there noonish Friday. He drives a little bright blue VW bug and has a woody trailer so you'll know that's him.

I'm REALLY hoping I can double up with Nic or Glenn , I'm financially challenged.
Some things are way over my head !! ...but it keeps me looking UP!

Hi Jeff & Donna!

We just won't give up on a miracle. So much prayer has to help so keep looking up. I sure hope Donna feels like coming down on Saturday so we can all give her a hug. As CD said, do what is best for her, you can always give her lots of hugs for us.

We will be leaving sometime on Thursday so see you all then.

Bluebonnet Update

Postby Cindy » Wed Mar 25, 2009 5:06 pm

Thank you to all those who worked on the Bluebonnet last weekend. This week has been too cold and too rainy to fiberglass. Dave and I have decided to wait and come to BB on Saturday morning. We will be there in time for breakfast. The Bluebonnet is still topless :o and has no doors. If possible, we will bring her tarped on Saturday but not so sure yet. See you all then.
