Hi All,

Thanks for all the replies! I live on the east coast, so yeah...we did get a time change this past weekend. Which is the only way I got to work last night. I still have a few hours of light once I get home during this time of year, so it makes it easier to work during the week. Yeah, maybe I used the stuff that wasnt as easy...but its on now!


Steve, you built a house while I was gone!!??!! geeezz man...I wish I had half of your speed and ability! It looks great

I will surely be posting some pics once I get the floor mounted....and then, it's time for sides!!! I hope to be spending more time working on the tear and more time exchanging great ideas and good conversation with you all!

hmmm...maybe i should think about england... LOL

I knew it was going to be harder if it was colder....which is why I was telling myself to wait until it was warmer out. The can even says dont attempt under 50 degrees. It's been hovering at or below 50 for a while down this way....we had a really weird 79 degree day monday and yesterday so i figured I would give it a go. its due to return to the 50's tomorrow. I wish I had thought of the hot water thing! at least I used gloves (ahem 2bits).

Mandy, I was thinking about you the other day and I'm glad you're back. I think you might get your groove on again now that Spring is springing.

We've begun our cargo trailer mods - see The Big Lug. I'm actually learning how to take pics!

Don't fret over starting and stopping on your project. That's what I've done on mine. I am starting to understand that things life throws our way (our house was also broken into about 3 weeks ago), lack of funds, and motivation lapses all contribute to what everyone refers to as "teardrop time."

whoa...two weeks later and I finally get back here. Thanks to all the folks who said welcome back! Where else is it pollen season?? Everything is the carport is covered in that wonderful fine mist of lime green....including the bottom of my trailer! which used to be black. I was supposed to get around to the insulation last weekend....instead i spent it curled up with a blanket sick as a dog. i think i am coming to a realization here...if i say i am going to do it..it doesnt get done. i am going to quit saying i will...and just do it one day! Gotta love "Teardrop time"!!

Hi Mandy! You know I have the EXACT same problem, If I say I am going to do something, my subconscious thinks it is already done and my drive goes out the window! It's got to me some kind of medical fact somewhere!

Beaver's Bend. Every square inch of Rose and my tv are covered in a fine yellow layer.

you get your good days and bad days just hang in there and it'll get done eventually. I broke a rib this weekend and then had a migraine this morning -- it seems like once you get on a roll... I tell myself life was going a little too smooth and I was due... -- stiff upper lip and all. Cheers!

any of you others feel the same once you have started? I think I am afraid to fail so i just keep putting it off.. ha! but..i shall continue, even if it takes me 3 years!! My dad keeps picking at me, everytime he comes over the house he is like "sooo...i fixed this trailer for you...when you gonna do something with it!"

We're at that point right now, We really wanna do it right so we're slowin' down!!
Our friends are building one also but they are very far behind us. They're hoping this week to get back into it so I'm sure that will also give us inspiration to keep on moving. Hopefully!

Well...I finally got her all tarred up oh come on, my floor!!

I actually did most of it a few weeks ago, but I was so pooped I could not bare to get the small spots I had missed. It's taken me a coupla weeks to get back to it. I got the spots covered. Look at that nice coating of pollen on the parts that were done weeks ago...mmmmm....I had to wear a mask outside.. My allergies are killin me. all of this pollen wreaks havoc on me every year.



So now I am ready for insulation. I posted a thread over in tips and techniques about what i should use...as the big box stores have a relatively low supply. as you can maybe see from above also...the "holes" where my insulation will go are 1 1/2 deep. I have only found 3/4" insulation. So I am not really not sure if I am just supposed to put in 3/4" and let there be space or double up on panels to get it flush. I got a few good comments over there....just not sure which to do yet.

Mandy, you should not need more than the 3/4" stuff. Just fasten it with screws and fender washer to hold it in place.

More work today....I put the floor on the trailer and lined the washers up that I am using between the subframe and the trailer. I used some fill it to fill in the seem in the plywood. The bolts I got are WAY too long...so either I have to cut them off or go buy some others I suppose. I got some KILZ today that I am going to prime with. Love that stuff for anything prone to mildew. I'm not sure I will get to it today as I have to sand the fill it down.
