Gene...I learned today that the "official" Coleman stuff for lubing up the pump leather is neatsfoot oil. Doug

OK What the heck is neatsfoot oil?????

I just used the oil that I use to oil blower motors on furaces. It seemed to work OK.

realy I was only kiding about being Addicted I can quit anytime I want I realy mean it. I can quit.

But he problem is the poor old Neat is on the endangered species list so it is getting hard to find.

If you go to a sporting goods store & buy baseball glove oil, you will have neatsfoot oil.

Good point Jeremy....neatsfoot oil has kinda gone the way of Mohair...just can't get enough Mo's anymore. Doug

Hey thanks for the information I did not relize that the neat was on the endangered species list. :cry:

I'll be enviromentaly responsible and only use a few drops of petrolium based oil on my pump. :thumbsup:

I used to know Mo but he's getting old like the rest of us and probably losing his hair anyway. Thats why you can't get Mo'S hair. :lol:

I just soak mine in some old used motor oil for a week or so and its good as new. Haven't thrown one away yet.

I had a good day on Ebay. I bought a Lot of 4 lanterns together there were 3 coleman's and 1 Thermoss, all for 1 money. :applause:

I also bought a JC Higgins lantern. :thumbsup:

Now I know I have an addiction. :cry:

was there a holiday brand lantern in that ot you bid on? I was wtching it but decided to pass because of this not working crap... The colemans were cool but I wanted the holiday lantern..I guess thats what flea markets and rummage sales are for...

Yea there is a Thermoss Holiday lantern in the bunch. For $20 bucks each I can but a little into them and still be OK. :thumbsup:

I figure on watching yard sales but I didn't have anything better to do yesterday.

It was a cold and rainey day so I went ebaying. :lol:

Oh well its an addiction I can't help it. :cry:
