Honestly, I think that requires a complete rebuild. So you take off the nameplate, and throw everything else away. Build a new teardrop, and then put your $350 nameplate on it! Am I missing something?

Is that an aluminum angle piece that the draw latch catch is mounted on? What size (thickness?) I'll need to do something similar for my hatch. I have the stainless steel draw latches from McMaster-Carr already.

Yep, thats aluminum from home depot no less. It's 1" x 1/8" thick. I thought it might crack when I bent it, but it's doing just fine. I might try annealing it next time before I bend it.

You'd want to keep the chassis also. So for the plate and chassis it's 350.00 now. Not too bad for someone in that area and who wanted to build a kenskill.
