[Plains Ranger]

I went to Moab last September and tent camped for a week. I go to the desert and it rains for 3 days! Then the wind kicks up. Lets just say dust drifts inside the tent aren't fun. I start thinking, a small travel trailer is what I need. Warm, comfortable, keeps the dust and rain out, simple. Get home, fire up google, find little guy trailers, now thats just FRIGGIN' COOL!!! Google again for teardrop forums, and, well, here I is!

Hello Plains Ranger, welcome to the forum. Before you make the big leap, it would be a good idea to try to attend a teardrop gathering in your neck of the woods. That way you will have a better idea of what you want in your tear and can talk to owners that can give you a few pointers. Owning and camping in a teardrop, is a special way of life and you want to be sure that you are camping in and enjoying the exact trailer of your dreams. Good luck on your efforts. Ask us any questions that you have in mind and you'll get answers.........I'm sure you have a better name than Plains Ranger, so let us know who you are.

Hey Plains Ranger,
I just got mine where I can camp in it and let me tell you--it was 32 degrees outside and we had to crack the windows cause we was so warm. I have about 4 months total buld time and 1500.00 in it I never have built anything on this magnitude ,made some mistakes(redesign), and I'm VERY happy with the results. I started out witha 278.00 tractor supply no-floor trailer and 300.00 of material and after 23 trips to Lowes WOOLAAA!!!!!. Building one is alot cheaper plus its alot of fun and sometimes aggrevating Til later by the fire-John T.

Welcome PR, I did all my investigation right here on the forum. checked out the designs, bought a manual from Steve Fredricks, Started to build. you can check out my album for some pics. Then I went to my first gathering, And I was very glad I build a 5'X10' and not a 4'X8' but thats about it. Since then though I've got the bug to build another. Good Luck, you won't be sorry. Walt

Welcome to the forum. Do your research to what you really want in a trailer. It took me a year before I finally got out of my wife that she really had to have a sink. There is a lot of design differences to have fun with.

Also check out the Hall of fame and the Generic Benroy plans. One stop shopping. The only catch is ya gotta get a camera to keep the bubble oil level and the masses happy.

Thanks for the warm welcome ya'll! Don't get that in most forums. My names Mike, rangering is what I do.

I'm not quite sure I want to build my first one. Mainly no place to build it. I went and looked at a Little Guy 5 Wide yesterday. Liked it overall, but there were a couple of small points I found...... Odd? But that will be on a different post before long.

I'd love to go to a gathering, but I work weekends, and thats really not negotiable. So I've been looking through the meber list to see who's in metro Denver that I might be able to PM and trade ideas with
