Hello All,

I am brand new. I am in the process of starting to build my own teardrop. Deceided to go with Mike Schneider Generic Benroy plans. They meet must of my ability and needs to perfection. Have one variable; The frame leaning towards redtrailer 599. Any sugestions? Harbor freight"s 599. Need to stay in the 5X8 0r 5X9.

Thanks,

Carlos

Hello, Carlos.

Welcome to the FUN.
The Generic Benroy is a great plan. I'm using it as a base line for my 5' X 8' build(actually 64" X 96"). It'll be slightly modified from the original plan.

No matter what trailer frame you use, it can always be modified to fit your need. I just completed the floor of mine and will build a trailer frame to fit. The 2" X 2" tubing was delivered last Thursday. As soon as I'm over this terrible cold I've come down with, I'll make a start on it.

Keep us posted on your progress and post many pics. :)

Good luck,
Mike

Hey Carlos,
I got my trailer(4x8 no floor) from Tractor Supply. I didn't tag it thru them because I said it was for use on the farm only. The price was to be 299.00 + 65.00 for tags, going the way I did I got it for 278.00. :applause: When I was almost done building it I then went to DMV and tags cost me 50.00, so I saved quite a bit in the long run  8) Til by the firepit-Later-John T. 8)
My 2 Cents good luck with your project.
I have about 1500.00 in my total build to date and I'm already camping in it!!!

to the playground Carlos. The Benroy plans will definately get you there. Either trailer should be good. Harbor Freight has a coupon out right now. 20% is a lot these days.

Enjoy the forums, ask lots of questions and most of all show and tell :pictures: :pictures: :pictures: Keeps the bubble oil level. ;)

Hey welcome to the forum. You are lucky as there are several builders close to you and even a large gathering coming up in a few months if you want more ideas. The size is really up to you. If you can make do with the smaller then go with that because it will save you money.
