Hi Ladies and Gents,
I've been enjoying your forum for about a month now, and thought it about time to register. I appreciate all the info available here, and have already decided on the one for me. Grumman 2 (thanks Andrew).
I have a tire and wheel question, but I think I'll post it later tonight in a more appropriate category.
Please forgive my avatar from another hobby of mine. I'll update it when I get something more trailer-like to use.

Hey Courtland, WELCOME...sure glad you decided to leave lurkerdom and come out into the light ;) ...I've been up a creek many times with an old Johnson...and always managed to make it home...when your ready, post you tire and wheel question over in the "Trailer and Chassis" section...looking forward to seeing pics your Gruman as it comes together...

Welcome to the Forum, Courtland. Ah yes, 50s outboards, I remember them well. I had a 10 hp Merc on the transom of an 8ft hydroplane and it was the hottest thing in the river, back in 1950. Now, you just gotta have that Grumman 2 so you can enjoy your outboards at that lake or river. Remember, there is not a question that someone on the board can't answer. Good luck.

I feel I should re-post the shot of my '56 Johnson that Steve referred to above. It was my avatar for about an hour, until I changed it for a shot that showed me grinning at the tiller of my '56 Evinrude 15. The red (Holiday Bronze) 5 1/2 is an all original beauty that I found on eBay and drove to Penn. Dutch country to pick up. Still dreaming of my Grumman 2 build, and hope to use the 5 on a square back canoe when camping with our teardrop.

Old outboard motors turn my crank :lol: Always where a part of the Camping Experience!!! Stylin' and Profilin'. :thumbsup: If I had the money I'd be an old outboard Junky. We had an old Lonestar(65-67) Mystic 14' with a Big Twin 40 Evinrude!!! I've tried to find another one of those Mystic but they are RARE!!! :thinking:
Anyhooo-enjoy your build and keep us updated. I just finished my build and have camped out in the front yard waiting on April/May Tearjerkers gatherings in Tenn. and NC., and now in Va in July.All within about 300 miles of the house. :applause:
