Newbee from Northern Indiana

Postby Tesman81 » Fri Apr 03, 2009 9:46 pm

Hi Guys!

My name is Eric and I was raised camping in tents and then graduated to a tent camper. I love the outdoors and the camping lifestyle. Fortunately or unfortunately  depending on if you listen to the news for Northern Indiana, I have been in the RV Industry for the last 15 years. I have had the opportunity to travel several thousand miles each year with a travel trailer or a fifth wheel behind me and although they were nice - I still love the more rustic version of camping. In fact, we live on 13 acres and my kids love to tent camp in the back yard. Does this sound crazy yet? It gets better. I actually owned a high end fifth wheel company for two years. I loved designing and building them but it wasn't our style of camping. We love cooking outdoors but like sleeping on a real bed. That's why I fell in love with the teardrop campers...probably like most of you. It just fits our family. And where are my kids going to sleep you might be wondering.....we're building a teardrop with bunks included! I'll post pictures when it's finished. Anyway, I look forward to reading your posts and sharing the lifestyle we all know and love.

Happy Camping!
Eric

Eric, welcome to the forum. Looks like you have the perfect set up mind. Now all you have to do is build it. Believe me, the kids will find the teardrop much more comfortable than the tent, however, they won't have the freedom of sleeping away from 'the old folks'. I can relate to the travel trailer and fifthwheel hastle and the free and easy lifestyle of the teardrop trailer. Good luck on your build, (if you decide to build) and take pics and post 'em as your build progresses, we love progress shots..
