There's a joke about the guy who said he lost three wives because of mushrooms. Wife #1 ate mushrooms and died, wife #2 ate mushrooms and died, and wife #3 died from strangulation. When questioned about losing three wives because of mushrooms, he replied: That's right, wife #3 would not eat the mushrooms. :R

This isn't about Morels, but mushrooms in the same vain. This clip was on the Catherine Tate Show on BBC America. It is this couple explaining how appalled they were about Shitake Mushroms.

I look for the cows first, they are easier to spot...

Just kidding, all my mushrooms come from the store.

I know nothing about finding morels or safe mushrooms. I feel like I've been left in the dark and fed $hit all this time! :D

You might call your wildlife dept. and see if they have a group that will identify them for you. When I lived in Norway mushroom hunting was the in thing and they had a place to take them. I guess they have a lot of false Morels.

Here in Finland they grow in abundance. :D :D :D And mushrooms are also the in thing here as well. Matter of fact Finland sells much to Italy.

I think I remember harvesting mushrooms years ago, but I'm not 100-percent sure.

We used to have a wonderful crop of morels here. Nothing like a venison steak with morel and onions. Unfortunately the deer have caught on to this! Seems that the morel is high up on their craving list. They have all but wiped out the crop here.
