Sealing Fantastic Fan Question

What is recommended to seal a Fantastic Fan..... that closed cell foam gasket (seems a little wussy to me), a sealant like 3M 5200, butyl tape..or something else? I got the SlumberMAX sprayed today and was figuring on putting it together..I sure don't want a leaky vent (or a leaky anything for that matter!!)!

We have butyl tape under ours. No leaks.

I used clear RTV. Mainly because I had pretty much sealed everything before learning of butyl tape.

BTW, We were in rain most of last weekend and stayed dry and toasty.

I suck at applying clear or pigmented finishes period...
So for the time being... I'm gonna change the words to your little song...

About the Fantastic...
Silicone will not stick to plastic... It is possible to get it not to leak with silicone, but you gotta torque down your screws afterwards and basically turn it into a compression gasket.
I'm planning on using tape underneath and maybe some polyurethane, just for a nice looking exposed seal...
I can caulk with the best of 'em, but like I say... I suck with a paint brush and spray gun...
