Things that don't fit anywhere else...

I'm also building my TD to (among other things) facilitate my photography, so this thread really has me going. I hope we continue to see more pictures posted.

Meanwhile, since Slayer brought up the topic of HDR, here's one of an Oklahoma landscape. I admit its not as dramatic as cdfnchico's shots of Yosemite (BTW - I agree "its Nikon all the way"), but what the heck, its home.

Okay,

For those of us that just like to take pictures, but don't keep up on all the latest...
What is HDR?

Rob, HDR stands for "high dynamic range". Its a technique used with photo editing software to produce a high level of detail in all areas of the photograph from the darkest shadow to the brightest highlight. I'm sure you've seen pictures that had shadow areas that were completely black and other bright areas that burned out. This technique allows you to somewhat overcome this problem, but, if taken too far, the photo will look "artificial". You can do a google search if you want to know more. For the most part, though, I'm like you.... I just like to take pictures.

Ahhh. what to share here... this photo album shot a while back. There are many still shots I am proud of, but these photos presented a variety of challenges.

Fast action performance shots in an ever changing light situation.

I've shot thousands of performance shots of latin dancers on stage.
