Hi to you all from Downunder
I live in Melbourne Australia
I am about to start building a teardrop
I have a Mitsubishi Delica Spacegear (4x4 SUV)
Although I could convert my SUV into a camper, it makes more sense to have a teardrop to tag along behind
I look forward to maybe steeling some ideas from you guys? and getting advice on the setbacks? shortcomings, and as always the benefits.
Any tips you think I should have feel free to give me a holler.

Welcome to the wonder of teardrops!! :lol: :cry: I just finished the "Costa Lotta" I have about $1600.00, 4 months work and 23 trips to the BoxStore :shock: in mine.Its the first thing that I ever built on this level. My build pictures are here:

Hope this inspires you to get the sawdust flying :roll: I had no plans to work with, but I knew, KIND OF, want I wanted. I worked the measurements out on the fly :x :twisted: :thinking: :worship:

Always nice to hear from downunder.... I've found the best thing for building a t/d is to have a stool and a cooler full of VB... really aids the thinking process and gives you some great ideas... some of those ideas won't be buildable but they will be great ideas none the less... oh, and have one for me.

correct... there are very, very few original ideas... but there are quite a few improvements on ideas..... and we love pictures of improvements...

A picture of a simple frame just welded will entertainment for at least one beer....

good luck with your build.... and ask all the questions you want.....

you will be surprised how many different answers you will get to a simple yes or no question......

Image to the playground Fab 1. There are lots of original ideas! Just ask anyone around here. 8) :lol: Oh well anyway, if you look at the Hall of fame and the Generic Benroy plans you can get some too.

Welcome aboard. Do check out the various other Ausie builders that are members of this board. BTW, is it true that down there, tree leaves grow underground and the roots are exposed to the heavens? Naw, just kidding. Good luck on your build, and when built, load it on a freighter and come across the pond to So Calif and we'll give you the Cook's tour.
