Dana, It's looking good. You're making great progress.

They had 4' x 8' bendy plywood in various thicknesses at my local hardwood supplier. It comes with the bendy part running either lengthwise or along the width. I plan to skin my roof with two layers of 1/8" luan from the hardwood supplier - it's plenty bendy and much better quality than big box luan. I'll be fiberglassing the roof. Have already fiberglassed the sides. Plan to use a roundover router bit at the edge of the roof. Will run the fiberglass cloth from the roof a couple inches down the sides to help tie the roof and the sides together.

Dana you can poly but remember that you are gluing to what ever you put there. I personally think a few layers of epoxy or cpes........

CPES is a thin, penetrating epoxy that bonds with the wood to prevent water penetration It is an excellent product.

Cliff...Thanks..I went and read all about it. Sounds like really great stuff. Im not really into ordering stuff. I will drive 2 hours rather than order something. Im gonna check with Ace hardware and see if there is any penetrating sealer there. If not I guess I will have to order it.

:(

Dana

Ive been so back and forth on what im going to do to the roof. :duh: Im gonna take a day or two to think about it. Ive got to do something soon..my plastic is gonna sprout leaks.

Dana I can understand the not ordering stuff. With Rot Dr. you can probably do that over the phone or send in the money. They do a lot of business with teardroppers and will be glad to give you good, honest service.

Hello all, Just thought I needed to put my two cents worth in. I started with a frame off of a pop-up with no plans. I drew some shapes and concepts but nothing concrete. I created basically as I built. I just couldn't seem to find any plans that fit the frame I was using so I just decided to fly and see where I landed. Well, about eight months later I'm almost done and I really like the way it is coming out. Nothing fancy, but certainly functional. I know, I know, I haven't posted any pictures yet. Every time I get ready to, I have a problem downloading them or the camera acts up or I lose all the pictures I've been taking up to this point do to the computer crashing!!! Sorry about that, just needed to vent there. ;) I will post some pictures as soon as it quits raining and I can uncover it. We may be in for some decent weather this weekend. I really enjoyed creating as a went along. It was a surprise to see how certain things turned out. Even to me and I built it.

Good luck MsDana. Hope your project proves to be as enjoyable to create as it is to build. I've enjoyed my creating and building so much.   By the way, I like the emoticons as well!
Have a great day and hoping the weather is great no matter where you are!!!

Signed, Me
