Bee Stings

OMG. This just really creeps me out. I have only been stung once in my life (by a wasp), and I hope it never happens again.

last year i accidentally stuck my hand in my flower bed to pull out some dead stuff and when i brought my arm out, its had so many bees on it that it looked like yellow fur! i got about 30 stings before i shook them off and got into the house. my arm was aching for 2 weeks after that! i'm a little more careful nowadays! ;)

Several years ago when I worked fiber optic maintenance, I was working with a small town telco, and the backhoe operator and his spotter were about 400 yds away starting to clear a fence line before we could begin work. Suddenly, we see the backhoe operator and spotter come running like maniacs towards us, so we all take off running in the same direction without asking questions. I remember thinking that they must have hit a gas line and were running before it blew, but it turned out that they had uncovered a huge hornet's nest with the backhoe. I don't think I have ever run that fast in my life.

I think the spotter was stung a few times, but that was all.

Doesn't everyone have this stuff? How I spent Easter morning.

Not my bees, this was a beekeeping class which ended with moving a wild swarm into a new hive/home.

Captive swarm was in the cardboard box and now are in the hive. While moving the swarm they confirmed a queen was there.
