:applause: Yay Mandy! Good job! I like your washer idea, simple yet super effective. I would just get a sawzall with a milwaukee "torch" blade on it and it will smip those bolt ends off lickety split! Now for those walls eh! Keep it up as you can!

First off, Glad to see you back here and building. I was wondering about how you were doing. Glad things are working out.

... I put my gloves on, turned up the music and started. So I have to say...this was one of the worst experiences of my life..lol. It was the first time I was thinking to myself, what the hell am i doing?!?! I kept thinking of the picture I saw of Mary K putting hers on with a paintbrush. If I had tried to use a brush, that stuff would have laffed at me!! I had to use a putty knife to get mine on. It was like spreading thick chocolate frosting on a 5x8 cake...and I gotta say, i HATE baking. I kept thinking the entire time...I sure hope this is the right stuff. I dont remember everyone else saying it was this bad. it took me roughly 2 hours to gets the entire bottom smeared....so, it's black, it's gooey and more importantly......its not going anywhere. lol I did post a picture of what I got here a long time ago and all the pros said it was what I should use...but dayum!!!

 At first I purchased the wrong stuff and had the same experience...

It was going on like cake icing also so I scrapped it off and went back to lowes.

And got this....

I let it sit in the sun a bit and it went on fine.

I know, a little too late huh?

hey mary k!! Yep, it took me a lil while but I am back to building. I actually remember asking you about your two different buckets. What I got was almost exactly lime what you said was the right stuff. I think it was just cold. I used it yesterday to make sure I got everywhere and before I did I let it sit out in the sun. Was not near as bad!

Given their performance or lack thereof, I recommend wearing a Stars jersey rather than a Mavericks jersey. (Although the Mavs on lighting the world on fire either.)

Well finally got around to doing what I said I was going to two weeks ago...sanding down the filler and putting a coat of primer on the floor. I say primer but I used Kilz. I've always sworn by that stuff for anywhere that has a possibility of mildew. That little 5x8 floor sucked up half a gallon of that stuff....and that stuff is thick! I was somewhat let down when I realized that you would be able to see the imperfections on the floor as its not exactly cabinet grade wood....but, oh well. a mattress is going on it anyway! If this project has taught me anything with the little I have done is that there is perfect and there is what you can live with. :D

I cant even remember how many coats went on...probably about 4 or 5. I'm not quite sure what I am doing with the back edge yet so I didnt paint it yet. I have a feeling it will be covered by something...i dunno...we'll see.

This stuff made my day somewhat like hell and will prolly make my night even worse!

Yellow poison I say!!

I enjoyed my "TD Time" today....but I can safely say I will be in my recliner enjoying a cold wheat beer after I wash off the inch of pollen on me!

Hey Mandy,

Glad you finally got back to it! You see... you said you were gonna and that deflated your impulse! I don't know why the pics didn't load, your code looks perfect and the link works when I paste it in to a new window. The floors look great! Using Kilz is a great idea since moisture likes to collect under the mattress!

The img button doesn't seem to work with this. Don't know why so I made it a url. 8)

Happy to see you back at it.

I went through the same thoughts. I haven't seen the floor in months.
Holy cow, Rose is a teenager now! Done? Surely you jest. A teardrop is never "done".
