hf trailer question

:twisted: I have been looking around the forum for a while, I have built one trailer all ready, and decited to build a standy, I have purchase a hf 1800# trailer. I'm building a 5' wide 8' long and 5' high classic benroy style td trailer. I want to notch and drop the frame 12 inches down x 22 inches wide so I can stand up and cook inside was wondering if anybody ever done this .

Not sure what you meant by "notch" If that means cutting the side rail so the entrance to the lowered area is the same height as the well I wouldn't do it on an HF, not enough structural integrity. If you want to make a well, lots of people have done that, and it works good. This one is in my gypsy trailer and is made of bed frame angle iron. It's bolted together like the rest of the trailer

you are lucky you don't live in California with there roads they would rip the the bottom of your trailer wright off. :lol:

Did you lower your axel & spings to raise the trailer a little higher off of the ground ? :thinking:
