Sorry Guy's

I'll be in the Sierras for Labor Day weekend and the Spamboree is the weekend of the 25th, don't think I could afford 3 TD weekends in one month.

Enjoy all, it was great, even with the snow last time. :D

We did, got over 100 here, and being 2 miles from the Pacific, that's HOT! (Let's all hear a great big "Ahhhh" for the poor sot who has to live 2 miles from the beach...) But not to worry, the fog is back with a vengeance today.

I have to have camp set up in the Tetons on Sunday the 20th by about noon, so you can ink me in for Thursday evening through about noon on Saturday.

I would love to go in September! I was not able to make it for the first Glyph gathering since it was my husband's birthday that weekend (I almost forgot  )

September has some of the best weather in N. Nevada. I think we will make Austin a stop on our way to Elko and Lamoille Canyon.

That will also be a few weeks after Burning Man, so the Sunflower will hopefully be cleaned of all the Playa dust. 8)

Ohhh Mannnn  I was looking forward to another star party!

I'm going out camping this weekend and taking the astronomy books I checked out from the library! I already have a nice tripod, so I'm thinking that the next logical step would be a nice pair of binoculars.

I'll not forgive you for getting me started on ANOTHER hobby! Of course it all fits together. After towing my teardrop out to the remote desert and cooking dinner in my Dutch Oven, then I can spend a few hours observing the stars. Sleep? We don't need no stinking sleep!

I agree Joanne...that was certainly a highlight of the trip. I could listen to Al go on forever about the stars and planets. I've never seen some of the celestial things that he showed us. Doug

Just a note if you do go at this time of year, the sagebrush is blooming. If you have allergies, bring your Benedryl. :o

Joanne / Doug

Thanx for the compliments, but I'll give you my secret for sounding so knowlegable, It's not the knowing, but knowing where to find the correct information. And I always try to study for what's interesting in the evening sky before before I head out to a Star-Party.

But, I guess you do learn more as you study, but I always compare myself to those that I know have been doing this for 30 to 40 years, I've only been doing this for about 10.

It is sure a lot of fun, any way you do it. 8)

If there IS a fall Glyph's I will try to be there. I really wanted to go to the first one but didn't make it. (Weather) Please keep posting the dates. Desert camping is so nice, especially for star watching.
I cut it three times and it's still too short!!

There will be at least one tear at the glyphs on the 17th of September, but it's looking like I have to be in the Tetons by Saturday evening, so I might miss everybody. :(
The star party was great, epically the rings of Saturn, that was worth the drive all by itself.

Dan, we won't make the Sept. glyphs gathering :( , but stop by in Lovelock sometime on your way through to Reno (you got to go at least once a month like everyone else! Ours is almost done, it will be campable by next weekend if we have to stay awake all week to do so. Tomorrow, skinning the hatch!
