Bacon Fat and Heart Attacks

Postby BobR » Fri Apr 24, 2009 7:27 pm

Well it's been a little over three months since I died and was brought back to life (massive cardiac infarction complicated by three cardiac arrests) and believe it or not I am still craving bacon!

My oldest son and I had a conversation about developing a product to flavor oils and food to taste like bacon to replace my beloved rendered pork fat. To bad someone beat me to it. It's called Bacon Salt and here is the link. I ordered some yesterday and I'll let you all know it tastes.

My cardiologist said go for it!

Bob...I just tried the Baconnaise from the same company. It was great no bacon needed for a BLT. Baconnaise
The light has. No trans fat, No saturated fat, and only 2.5 grams of fat per serving.

Their website isn't updated, but they now have a bacon flavored lip balm.

I've tried the bacon salt on a baked potato- not bad!

I was wondering why the water balloon was getting bigger... and then it hit me.

No need to go "Hog Wild" Bob. Moderation is the key.

I have a solution to your dilemma....

....buy a pig, keep it as a pet and sniff it daily! :D

Bob,
I guess the Good Lord has more work for you to do before you get to home for good. I'm certain your family and friends are overjoyed to have you back.
Do you remember anything about your trip to the other side? We'd all like to hear it if you can remember.

Wow...lots of bacon lovers and products out there. Ninja Steve asked if I remembered anything from "the other side". The only things I remember are getting in the EMS bus, arriving at the ER, getting the Foley catheter inserted (not a fond memory), and waking up in the CICU after the surgery. And yes, according to the doc, I am blessed to be here. He said with the type of infarction (widowmaker) and the number of arrests my chances of survival were really slim.

Nice to have you back Bob -- you might have to take up another hobby... Teardropping is OK, I was talking about the bacon hobby! Sound like you aren't the only one with bacon 'issues' take care!
