ARIZONA GUIDE wrote:I likethe Eye bolt idea. My brother will be using my build more than I willbecause i do have my 27 foot camp trailer. He has been woried about me locking him in as a joke. I will use my build down along the border alot and we do get border crossers through our camp at night. They will stop and ask for food or water. We have had a few confrontations from more agresive crossers as well. I have fears of being locked in down there. So this will help me rest easy. If you ever remove it o would just fill the hole with a good caulking and then put a regular bolt in the hole it wioll just look like it was made that way. But like said above i would just remove it and caulk the hole and put the eye bolt back in. It will have many uses for camping anyways. I will copy your idea on tuesday. I have a few eye bolts in my shop just waiting for a good thing to be used for. I am going to out one on the back door as well just for the heck of it. :applause:

Hello Arizonza Guide,
I was telling my wife about this and we both agree that we would not like camping where border crossers are. I hope you carry protection when you are there!!!

Some of Arizonas best Coues Whitetail country runs along the borderlands. I was born and raised in the heart of it. I also do alot of Gold prospecting in the area. Yes we do cary protection. If i am deer hunting I have my rifle and my xd 40 on my hip with my 25 auto in my pack for a last resort back up.

Do you have any pics of the interior. Some of the pics do not come up, and I'm sure you originally posted some interior pics. I'm debating between building a teardrop or possibly just doing a cargo conversion for now. I like your galley set-up, and I like the idea of using a 5X8 for ease of towing and storing the trailer. I would love to see how you set up the inside (sleeping area). Then I would just have to figure out how to put a/c on that thing!! Oh yeah, what brand cargo trailer is that......I'm looking around at different options.

Here are some interior pics. The entire trailer floor is open for sleeping, 5x8. The front pic is before the the windows and curtins were installed. Notice the Marvel super hero curtins, my grandson thinks they are cool. I have since upgraded the sleeping pad with a 4 in futon.

I like solar too. I need to get a few trips under my belt before I do anything else. I really have to be careful. I find myself putting things in/on the trailer just because I have room. Some of the stuff like extra pots and pans I never missed when I did not have the space.

I bought it from AZ/Tex in Fontana, Ca. Their phone number is 909.428.8070. They are the actual manufacturer. They can build pretty much anytlhing you want right there.

Hope that helps.

Thx. They don't seem to have much of website.

What I like about yours is it's got a side door on a 5x8 platform, with a semi-aerodynamic profile, which seem hard to find in this size.

I looked for about 6 months trying to find a used trailer that was about this size with barn doors and a side door. I finally ended up buying a new trailer. I just got back from the Mammoth Lakes area. A freak storm came, it was really cold and windy at night. It was very nice being in the trailer and not in my tent!

Perm, can you not see the pics earlier in the thread? If you can not see them, I can email some to you. The only things I've done lately are add AirTabs and a table holder on the tongue beween the box and the trailer. I'm not sure if the AitTabs work or not. They look kind of goofy.

Steve,

Yeah, but those pictures were from June. Thought you might have updates.

AirTabs? Cool. Have you had it on the freeway and checked the mileage? Did the AirTabs kill any sway that you had before?
