Wow, this Geo Caching event is drawing lots of interest.
So far we have the following entrants.

Dan and Laura,
Derek and Kourtney
Chris
Scott
Judy and Tim
Jim Rolleston
John & Rose
Jared & Misty
Joe and Debbie
Suzi and Dan Galvin

We will make up teams of 3 or 4 people and each should have at least one hand held GPS to hunt with.

Prizes will be awarded.

There will need to be a small entry fee (per team) to help defer the prize cost and still have fun.

Details are being worked on as we approach the gathering.

This should be a fun event. It's new to me and to lots of others. We will have experienced geo cachers as well.

I'm looking forward to the geocaching and the Kayaking as well as the Food Fest and the movie on Saturday night.

These events begin to take on a "life of their own" and, as the excitement builds, it gets everyone involved.

Stay tuned for more details. Pray for good weather :worship:

We will plant some new ones before the gathering. Afterward we can replenish the supply.
Thanks,

Generally the cache will contain some trade items and a log. If you find it you can sign the log. What else is in the cache depends on the size of the container. Some are as large as coffee cans and some are as small as a band aid box. If you take something, you are supposed to replace it with something of equal value. You will find non-value items like key chains, Cracker Jack prizes, poker chips, etc. You can remove an item (trade) then place it in the next cache you find. Some prizes travel great distances in this mannor. You are also supposed to hide the cache in the same place you find it so that it is not found by a casual hiker that is not into geocaching.

For more information visit http://www.geocaching.com/ This is the best place to find information and links to caches. There are thousands of them hidden. Some in places very close to your home if you want to try it before May 16.

Bob, with all that gear you'll propbably need to add a new menu item for Saturday night.

That's really a great setup.
