I was just funnin' ya Alan. The Runlite won't be completed until the Florida run in Febuary 2006. Too may little things popping up like, no time to work on it, no money to buy materials, etc......

Here's the menu idea - a traditional Sunday go to meetin' pot luck. (Blues Brothers, if you didn't get it already) THIS MEANS JUST THIS: Each teardrop will bring 1 (ONE) covered dish, preferably Dutch Oven. The dish should only feed 2 to 3 people, not 23 people!!! hahahahaha ;) We are not feeding an army with each dish. Example: at Helen Ga we fixed 150 BBQ meatballs!!! What a waste. Hello, is anyone home!!! What were we thinking. We took home 75+ meatballs. Next time we will only fix 50 meatballs or less.

To recap - 1 Dutch Oven dish (if you DO) per camper - yield 2-3 servings. No more please.

We also have Southern Appalachian Tearjerkers stuff at http://www.cafepress.com/tearjerkers_sa

A little off topic for the Crew. I am having a pair of sterling silver Teardrop ear rings made for Wanda. If anyone else would be interested at an estimated $50 a pair let me know in the next week or so. Don't have a picture but they will be cast one sided with the back flat for engraving purposes. About 1 inch wide x 5/8 from top to bottom in a traditional style tear something like Pete's. The more I can get the cheaper they will be. Could just get one for charm or necklace at $25. If interested PM me.

thinkin'

Postby oklahomajewel » Tue Sep 13, 2005 1:15 pm

Heyyyyy y'aaalllll..... I'm certainly thinkin about y'all and figuring out if I'm coming... I can't believe time if flying by! It's only about 5 weeks away from your Crawl!!! Can I get my BREDBOX campable by then??? We'll see...!!!

Tent camping? OH! I went to the MO-KAN this past weekend in Kansas and swore that would be the last tent pitching for me!!! Haha
But the weekend was great - the tears, the company, the laughs, the new friends!!!

If I don't have one built, then possibly I can rent/borrow one from one of these okie buddies !!! :worship: And If I do come, it's a looonnng day drive, or a day plus a little so I'll probably want to stay for about 3 or 4 days.

I'll get busy!! and let you know more next week!
:R

 real good idea for the food Ross. We also had lots of leftovers from past pot lucks. Don't know what Darla & I will make? Guess it will be a surprise :QM Hope those gas prices go down some. This trip is going to really hit the pocketbook. :x Oh well.

I seem to remember a conversation at Unicoi concerning a BREAKFAST get-together at Davidson River. I believe Jane mentioned muffins :D and someone mentioned Danish :) etc. Anyone still interested?

Dan

P.S.
That trickle of oil under my truck at Unicoi was NOT engine oil. It turned out to be Transmission oil and I now have a new seal and some other parts. Had to get a tow from Highlands to Brevard.

hmmmm breakfast? no fire or ovens , or ??? Are you talking about a breakfast down BY the river and not at the campsites? sorry , I'm confused! :R
Don't count me out --- I hope I can make it !!! teardrop or no teardrop, we'll see!

I posted a 'recipe' for RV Omelets, it sounds easy and fun. But we'd need boiling water...

Linda and Lynne and Wanda were talking about doing Continetal type breakfast for those departing on Sunday morning in lieu of them participating in potluck cooking. It was just an idea. What do you folks think ?
