How much will 1/4 inch birch plywood bend?

Anything to do with mechanical, construction etc

I used 1/8" birch in 5x5 sheets. I got it in N. Dallas off TI Blvd.

I was wondering why the water balloon was getting bigger... and then it hit me.

I don't understand multiple layers of 1/8". Veneer is veneer, right? Aren't we just trying to do some "theater" and cover up the working parts of the TD? I'm planning on skinning the interior with 1/8"; is that enough?

you can check plywood company of Ft. Worth's stock on-line and see what they have available. I'd say there is NO WAY you are going to bend 1/4 inch birch around that radius unless it is 'bending' ply, which is just another name for 'we put most of the plies 90 deg from the bend direction'. (2) 1/8 plies would be easier to bend, or as suggested you could put a crap-load of curfs on the inside of the 1/4.... but it may or may not give you the 'look' you want.

Both of the suppliers mentioned by Mark and Kenny are great to work with. WoodWorldTX in Dallas is not a big location and they may have to order the ply you are looking for. Here's their website: http://www.woodworldtx.com/.

Plywood Company of Fort Worth is massive. When you first pull up to their warehouse, you may feel intitmidated, but they treat the hobbyist the same as a production cabinet shop. Here's their website: http://www.plywoodcompany.com/application/home/main.aspx.

If you need sheet goods in the metroplex, it is THE place to go. You can always call up and ask stupid nubie questions and they are really nice. They TOTALLY get the whole customer service 'thing'.
