That's a nice looking trailer! I just got back a huge amount of time so I should be working on the teardrop every day like the old days! Still not setting a time goal though.

"Longhaul"

Postby boujei » Sun May 10, 2009 10:21 am

John,

New to this forum...your "Longhaul" is exactly what i'm looking at building myself here. I have an old Red Dale tandem axle that is going to be gutted. The only thing I may do different than yours exterior wise is add an atv/generator platform on the front.

Do you have any available plans and additional photos...interior and exterior of Longhaul? Any advice and build up tips would be appreciated!!

Beautiful trailer!!

Sorry, no plans and the pictures in my album really are the only construction pictures I have.

As for build up tips put the wheels outside the body of the trailer, it will save you time and money.

The ATV deck sounds pretty interesting,

Have a great time. If you want to see it, come on over to the spring spring in Washington in a couple weeks, there will be some great trailers there, you would be very welcome to attend

Interior?

Postby boujei » Sun May 10, 2009 11:49 pm

John,

Interior wise, since yours is longer....do you have any extras other than standard teardrop features?

Seems like you'd have room for dining table inside and a head.

Or, should I just stick w/storage space and a bed made for a King? ;)

I have a full time couch, a dropped floor, I can slouch and put my pants on while the wife is still sleeping. She didn't even know I was moving about.
There is a table that I keep under the bed, but have never needed or wanted to set it up inside.

Camping with a tear means you're outside except to sleep or get out of the weather. I love camping with the Longhaul,

John

I guess I'll have to find some more pictures. You'll enjoy the build, the sky is the limit

Couch...

Postby boujei » Mon May 11, 2009 9:46 am

Now there's a clever idea....a simple couch....if weather gets nasty...wait it out reading a good book or cleaning my elk rifle!! I'll take some pics of the trailer prior to the "gutting" of same...I'm really beginning to like the idea of an atv platform. Now I just need to get measurements for the shape of the teardrop I desire and get that lofted. This will be a great project to do before I start work on my 29 foot Bartender boat I have plans for.

Would be really interested in any inside photos of Longhaul...but don't want to pressure anyone.

Thanks again for your input John!!

Great trailer, I'd think it is better then it ever was in its hayday, Great build pictures, thanks for sharing
