I've been off pain meds since 3 days after my surgery. I'm doing great and I have 4 1/2 weeks left on my leave. :R woo hoo! I'm thinking about doing some camping this weekend, if I can get some help with the lifting and packing which shouldn't be a problem. I hope everyone is doing well and getting ready to camp.

Lisa thats good news. :applause: I hope you feel better real soon. :worship:

 8) I am betting writing up the research proposal will be the hardest part. Or worse choosing a research project. :?

Never give up Mandy! Staying the course is really the hardest part. There is help for everything else.

Thanks, Miriam! There was certainly a lot of buzz around Bo'bama, and my inbox was just full of stuff that was soooo far off the mark, including a lot of whining that the president had let the country down by choosing a purebred dog. I figured it was time to say something out loud, and what better place to say it in than my blog, 'Life out Loud.'

I've been reading as often as possible, but things have been just *crazy* around here. I'm just back from a week at the national specialty for English Cockers (camping in a Red Roof Inn for seven days), am off again this weekend to go to NYC for scans and follow-ups, and work is...well, I am still aiming at retirement by age 55, but they are closing my division in 19 months, so I may not quite make it without some upheaval.

I really need to get the SunSpot out for its spring cleanup and to get ready to tear up the Adirondacks in a few weeks. I want to fix the vent, and maybe do some work on the wiring. One thing at a time, I keep telling myself.

:) I pop in here from time to time to see what's up. May I make a suggestion? It'd be nice to see a thread about the trailers women have built. With pictures, too. Maybe a sticky. It could be useful, and encouraging, especially to women contemplating building one. Like TheresaD from CT.

I am taking an online test for a part-time job I have applied for. It is 270 questions/tasks, but I have until late Monday night to finish.

I answer some questions, and then let my poor brain rest for awhile.

I'm just tidying up after the guys moved my office around. I no longer face the hallway and see everyone who walks to the bathroom. My boss says I need one of those 'round the corner' mirrors on the wall so he can see if I'm in my office. I told him if he sees my car outside, then I'm here...he said, "and if I don't see your car, then you're in trouble". We both laughed.

But, what I am really doing is waiting to sneak out at 3:00 ( :shhh: ) so I can go home and eat some hot, freshly boiled crawfish! Brian ordered 2 sacks (approx. 80 lbs.) and is boiling them today. Mmmmm...I can just taste them now. (that's what the hubby will be doing)

Happy Mother's Day to all the moms!

After two crazy weeks, a trip to South Dakota and back in 8 days(see trips) and a major fire in Santa Barbara (see off topic) I hope for life to get back to normal.

I still have the major part of the sewing for my daughter's wedding dress to do. There has just been too many interruptions, like painting & putting down laminate flooring, around here so I'm behind schedule.

Monday there are a few things I have to get done, but after that I think I'm going to let the answering machine answer the phone and tell everyone not to bother me.

I also have to alter the dress she wants to wear to the rehearsal dinner & probably will have a flower girls dress to make, plus the veil for the dress all before July 18th.

Here is one room that got a major redo, walls painted, ceiling painted & laminate floor added & white french door replacing old cheapy sliding glass door. Plus some of my daughter's art work framed & hung. The first pics are with just some of furniture added. The green table in the back , after the cutting board gets put on top is my "new work space" for sewing the wedding dress. My dear husband fixed the legs so they can be at kitchen counter height or kitchen table height. It was originally made as a children's ping pong table.

The black & white charcoal/drawings are my daughter's work.

I'm playing hooky today, I may not have time to post any more photos until after the wedding. But as the dress gets more together if I get a chance, I will.
Martha ;)
