Well for starts we did bring our rain boots and everyone noticed them.
Tung box got an inch .... and thank God for the store across the freeway that did have tarps. covered the trailer with a large on and the water stopped filling the box.
In the beginning it was ok with small sprinkels. I had that weather to set up our sun shade over the table so we could cook. built a small cover for the doors but was missing parts for both sides, but got hers up. set up our shower tent for changing clothing but in the end it was useless. all the folks were great, I think I only talked with 1/3 got some shots and got one really good meal in.
but along with the first hard rain Wife got sick (think it was breakfast at Jack in the ....)
We stayed dry in trailer for the most part except for those sudden door openings in the night.
by moring it had stopped and the lake went down. Then the lake went down we got some breakfast waffels then the rain started. Sat we desided to go it was to wet and we did not think it would stop.
Went to the store to get plasic bags by the time we left the lake was back and we had to hitch up in water.
We voted, got our plack and drove off.
Dean got his gun Port award and all was well we thought as we drove off
headed south vacavill was our goal and we thought of staying in a motel to shower and rest. We call a relative and next thing we knew we were sleeping there.
Got home and found everything inside was soaked the bags had helped but the water had run out of the bags and the cooler release knob had come off too soaking the matteress underneath as well as on top. We emptied out the trailer into the garage and could not put it in for a week as I cleaned and dried coats, sleeping bags, mattress, etc.
Wife said we are getting a truck next time it will all go in the bed and not in the trailer!!! Not a SUV but a Pickup where such happenings can better be .....
We would love to do it again and now we have learned what to do and what needs to be fixed.
Trailer did not leak ..... we did....
