I ran across this forum while surfing the net and have begun my search for a teardrop. I think for our family it will be a step up from tent camping as we have a 13 year old that will probably not want to come on family vacations in a few years. Unfortunately I have never built anything before so we are probably looking at buying something either new or pre-owned if we can find something. Don't seem anything around here. The only teardrop that is built near us is the Tadpole. Don't know if anyone has any experience with them

We have a PT Cruiser that is limited to a tow weight of 1000 lbs and a tongue weight of 110 lbs according to the owner's manual which seems to restrict us on what we may be able to pull. I would really appreciate any input if anyone else out there is pulling with a PT and what types of teardrops we might look at.

Thanks a bunch and glad to be here. Seems like a great group.

Tooth,
You might want to check the classified at the bottom of this forum. Seems like a good many for sale. Ebay and Craigs list. Ya know I didnt think I could build either but I got my Brother In-Law to help and he had the brains I had the brawn. And a year later shes finished. So good luck and hopefully youll find a good deal.
Enjoy,
Bill and Marijo :vroom:
Hope to see you on the road.

Hi Brett, welcome to the best teardrop site on the net. If you really want to get off of the ground and get into teardropping, all you have to do is cast out your net, and you will be surprised what is out there and available. I am sure you can find a suitable used tear for an affordable price, all you have to do is let it be known that you are a serious buyer.

Good luck on your search, and perhaps some other Canadians will respond with an offer of a teardrop that is within your reach. There are all kinds of tears that can be pulled with your PT Cruiser. I regularly haul my 4 x 8 woody with my 4 banger Toyota Camry, been back to Wisconsin and had no problems going across the parched deserts or up the mountain passes. Good luck on your search. This buy will change your life. All we ask that you keep in touch and take pics of your dream tear, when the ink has dried on the check.
