Thought this was interesting - they do the usual hot dog demonstration - then up the ante a bit.

Doesn't work with Pressure Treated Lumber due to the conductivity of the copper in the CCA treatment ( the green gunk). Still a great saw. If they would build a commercial model I would have it in my shop. It takes months for those nicked fingers to heal; if they are still attached.

That was pretty, um... holy #%&*!!!

Talk about a leap of faith.

And, I still think it is great technology, even if the woodworking elite scoff at it.

my dad is a cabinet maker now retired..Over 45/50 years of carpentry and all that goes with it he has had a couple mishaps.. I was there for one of them, he was working on a board edge on a jointer and his fingers slipped and he ran them over the cutting tool, i remember alot of blood... lolol Could have been prevented with a simple pushblock....

OK..if you look close, you'll notice that the inventor puts his finger in the saw in such a way that the pad of his finger barely touches the SIDE of the saw blade...
I'd like to see him run his finger in there like he was pushing a piece of wood.

In fairness to the technology, he did do that with the hot dog. And, his finger did touch a tooth, even if he did roll it in from the side. I wouldn't try it -- now way.

it is impressive but I couldn't bring myself to try it. The reason all my fingers are still attached (so far anyway) is because I have made a point of not putting them too close to high speed tools
