Well come on CRACKER39, lets get crackin' on building the SQUIDGET, we want to see some pics! Design looks good and very functional, I like it. I think your 1200lb estimate (empty weight) is very close. I have a similiar chassis under my 6by10 teardrop and it came in at 1150lbs with most everything in except, food, water, cooler ice and clothes.!

good luck

Oklahoma jewel here!

Postby oklahomajewel » Sun Jul 31, 2005 10:49 am

I started using Oklahoma Jewel around the web, because my first name is Julie and I've lived in Oklahoma all my life. Back when my dad had a CB radio and that being the fad, me and my sister would listen in and only talk a little. But being all of maybe 11 yr old, my handle was "Li'l Jewel"

Well, I've grown older now, but still don't know what to do when I grow up.... :R

My other name, and what will go with my teardrop is GGBDLVR. That stands for GinGerBread LoVeR. I have collected Gingerbread boys , girls, houses - everything from ornaments and figures to sweaters and jewelry, etc and my kitchen is considered Red & gingerbread.
So I plan on my TD being red or combo of red & tan, with a vanity plate of BREDBOX since that's more what it looks like.
Then I plan on having a graphic painted on the back that says "Run! Run! as fast as you can... You can't catch me...." and have a cute graphic of a gingerbread girl !

I didn't even know that small trailers like the teardrop used to have names like breadloaf and canned hams , until I saw a book at the library about the history. So I guess BREDBOX kinda fits.

Also, I really love the color red and it will be very versatile for Americana and fourth of July , and also possibly a little tailgating with my fav - the Oklahoma Sooners - crimson and cream!

Julie
Some things are way over my head !! ...but it keeps me looking UP!

Mine goes back to the old BBS days when you had to dial up bulletin boards and log on. I had to think of a name, there was a Mightydog dog food commercial on the TV at the time--do the math. I'm not the most creative guy in the world, so I've been using it ever since.

Postby Roly Nelson » Fri Sep 09, 2005 12:23 am

My folks nailed me with Roly, (pronounced Row-lee) because I kept rolling off of the kitchen table when I was a baby. NOT!

Actually, my Mom said she named me after a cute little guy by the name of Roland, and only when I graduated from high school or was inducted into the army, was that name used to identify me. I would have to wear a suit and tie to be called "Roland", no way. So Roly it is, rhymes with Holy, and if you can't keep that straight, my sweet wife's name is "Ollie" as in Oliver North. Been thinking of getting a bumber sticker that says "I slept with Ollie", but she is against it. That's all for now, so I'll sign off....................R, as in Roger, O, as in Oscar, L as in Lema, Y, as in Yankee. Roly, as in Roly-Poly, not Rah-Lee as in Rawleigh

PS, now lets hear the true story about the name.........Gage!

I live in Arizona so that is the AZ in AZKick. My truck is a Sidekick so that is where the Kick part comes in. AZKick is also my plate on the truck. Check out the web site for a photo of the Suzuki and some pics of the first teardrop build.

Been smoken brisket for several years. A friend suggested I start my own BBQ business and call it Smokey Bob's BBQ. Well never did start the business but the name kinda stuck.

I didn't get all that descriptive. Just my initials. Is it possible to change one's username?

Caliban is my usual nick. That's the character from the Shakespearean play not the X-men comic (though I've read both ;) ).

I've been practicing "how not to be seen" for the last couple weeks, thought I'd pop up and say "hi".

"Hi"

rd == Caliban
(has that godzilla-movie-credit feel, doesn't it...?)

Gus :D is the nickname my dad gave me as a baby, but my 1st teardrop I built was the 'redneck'. I built it in a hurry and used lots of material that weren't new and it didn't comform to "style or traditional" ways. I still had lots of fun with it.

My story isn't very exciting. I have 4 kids, KAtie, JAcob, MEggie, and LUcas. I had to use something that I could remember easily.

Hey Gage, I saw only one post from you here and it wasn't about your handle. I know you're first name is Gage, but is the 56 the year you were born? Married? I am just curious. I graduated high school in '56. BTW, I spent quite some time this evening looking at the pics on your web site...good job there.
