Hello from Indiana

Postby stephrene78 » Wed May 27, 2009 2:06 pm

I've been researching light weight travel trailers and this group keeps popping up so I thought I would join. I am interested in something bigger than a teardrop but still tiny (that my minivan can pull) so I hope this is the right group?

I'm getting divorced and have two small boys. I'm 30 yrs old and my boys are 3 and 22 months. I love to travel and think using a travel trailer is the best way for my boys to see the country. I read in the ladies' section about camping alone.....am I crazy? LOL

Right now there are 3 top contenders that I am researching and will be traveling soon to see in person. 2009 Coachman Shasta, Eggcamper, and the T@DA.

I look forward to learning and getting to know you more experienced travelers.

Welcome stephrene78 from a fellow Hoosier, you've sure found the right place. There's lots of good people and lots of good info on here.
I've got a home built Tear that my wife two 5 year old's and I can sleep in.
Don't worry about going to small cause you'll spend most of your time out side. You should think about visiting/joining one of the gatherings you'll meet lots of new people. Keep us posted on what you decide to do, whatever way you go you can't go wrong with camping.

Welcome from another Hoosier.

I was just getting ready to post to suggest you find Scott, and behold he is here! He can tell you all about camping with his young boys. We used to tent camp with our girls when they were little and it was great. Now they're teenagers and it's a whole new set of problems!

I highly recommend jumping in. You won't regret it. Talk to some of the many talented ladies on here who built their own. You'll be inspired.

Not camping because you were single would be crazy.

Welcome aboard!

Those all sound like great trailers. Love the new Shasta.

Welcome to the teardrop and tiny trailer board. If you check out the "Loners on wheels", I am sure you can check with some of their 2200 members, who are also into traveling by themselves. It is comforting to travel with others of like interests and perhaps you can get some valuable info from them. Good luck on your future travel plans.
Roly, ;)

Welcome to the forum. New teardroppers are growing by the day. The small travel trailers (on any kind) make exploring the world a whole new way to join the fun.

Keep in mind that we have several gatherings around the state from May to October.
You can keep informed by going to this link for up to date information.

The "Hoosier Chapter" of Tearjerkers is growing each year. I'll send you a "PM" to get your email address so that you can be put on our mailing list for detailed information regarding our chapter gatherings.
