Thomas, there is some exhilaration making a cut on a part where one false move can mess up several weeks of work! I still need to route a dado for the front cabinet face frame and then I move to making cabinets.

By the way, I do like the four tail lights on your teardrop. Hmmm. :thinking:

I wonder if that would look good on mine?

Then by Mark's definition, I'm a glorious builder? I've made a fair share of boo boos. Fixed them all, I hope. It takes lots of "teardrop time" to do the do overs. Months and months more.

Thanks Laurie. I took a lot of shop classes in high school and college. That's when I fell in love with woodworking. About three years ago, 27 years after college, I finally was at a point in life where I could start back my hobby. Then I found this site and those plans went in a different direction somewhat.

I have teardrop fever now. Even my wife is showing early signs of this disease. She already has a wish list for #2 when #1 isn't even halfway complete.

This weekend was the first time I've been able to work on the teardrop two weeks in a row in a long time.

First order of business is to route dados for the front cabinet.

Next comes another butt-tightening procedure - cutting the doors from the sidewall assembly. :worship:

That wasn't so bad. My first door! :applause:

I still need to route the door edges to the plywood frame, and cut out the window opening, but I am happy with the way that it turned out.

I'm hoping that is the case Brad. I'm committed to have something campable for LCG IV in October and that date seems looming right now. After I build the bulkhead and the front cabinet face frame, I'll be ready to go "3D" with my fabbed sidewalls, floor and other parts. (I'll probably be assembling the teardrop "off-frame" and drop it onto the frame once I have one.)

Another construction milestone - I picked up my frame from the welder today. I know - no pictures means that it didn't really happen. I'll see what I can do to get some posted.

Unfortunately, the build is going to stall once again. I have to work this weekend, and next weekend, my wife wants to go somewhere for our anniversary. I told her that we could go to the garage and that I would set her up with grinder and wire wheel to clean up the new frame for paint. Needless to say, that didn't go over too well!

Weathered the heat this weekend and got some things done. Most of it was little stuff that consumed a lot of time, but is not real exciting. I did get the face frame made for the headboard cabinet and the frames for the insulated bulkhead.

When I previewed this picture on my camera it looked like it was in focus, but I guess two days of heat and humidity messed up my mind. The bulkhead frames are made out of poplar. The headboard cabinet frame is made out of red oak. (I didn't get a picture of it.)

Next step will be to paint the trailer. After that, I've got all the components built, and it will be time to stand up the walls.

I picked up my trailer today (again.)

The "again" part is because I used Aggie math in sketching my trailer for the welder, and the dimension that I gave him for the floor frame of the trailer was too long. :cry:

My sidewalls overhang the framing, so back to the welder I had to go. Of course, the axle distance and all the dimensions at the aft end were correct. So, instead of just a simple fix by cutting off the back end of the trailer, he had to cut the tongue off and re-fabricate the floor frame, re-attach the tongue, etc.

Everything now is correct. :thumbsup:

So, as soon as I get it painted, I can attach the floor and stand up the walls.

How about that, a trailer on a trailer :lol:

Reminds me of the time when I arrested a guy driving a tow truck. Had to call a tow truck to tow the tow truck away. Something ironic about that. :roll:
