The camping was good, weather was great! Found out that park fills up fast and fills totally up every weekend. There were no electric sites when we got there, so had to camp at tent site. Not a problem with a teardrop ! Camp hosts were really nice.

But the park was totally crowded and some speed boats and skiers were loud. Nice campers around us though, bath house good, me and my friend Helen went on the Nature trail and had a good workout of a walk.

Didn't find out till Sunday that the other lake to the south didn't allow the skiers and speeders... but it was full too .

If I go there again, I'd go to Dripping Springs AND when the schools are in session, might make it more doable. State Park doesn't take reservations.

:applause:

Glad to hear you had a good time this weekend. I have camped their about 13 years ago in an area that not allowed for campers or camping ( special event held that weekend - last weekend in June ;-) thing ). I had fun and enjoyed the weekend at the most southern point loop below the Red Oak camping area. :)
Looks like I would have had a hard time running late getting a camp site for Saturday night late.

Good report on the lake and when and where camp during this time.
